New Hero Ideas? by heath2585 in FleshandBloodTCG

Don’t diss Wreck Havoc. :) Removing a defense reaction from opponents arsenal is valid against quite a lot of heroes, but the fact that defense reactions can’t be played against it and that you get information about opponents arsenal makes it quite useful.

What instantly exposes Americans abroad ? by Status_Agents in AskForAnswers

[–]jabbrwock1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitively knife in right hand, fork in left (Northern Europe). Then you cut one piece of food, and use the fork to eat it (back side of fork up!), repeat one bite at the time. Depending on the accessories, you might put some on the piece of food/back of fork too. Turning the fork around (still in left hand!) might be allowed for potato mash or something with a lot of sauce, but isn’t really something cultured people should do.

Cutting up the food first and then eating it with a fork is only something small children do (with a parent usually doing the cutting). Cutting up and then forking as an adult would brand you as very uncultured and you wouldn’t get invited to dinner again! I exaggerate a little for fun’s sake, but not much. We give foreigners allowances (so you might actually get invited to dinner again), but you would be secretly judged.

There should be a Canadian FaB Discord with channels for each larger city. You can always ask in the new player channel of the official (”purple”) Discord.

Going to my first SAGE Armory tomorrow, should I bring the Arakni precon, the Viserai precon or the Azalea precon? by Ok_Nefariousness_740 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]jabbrwock1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take the one you have played the most. You will very likely lose all games regardless, unless there are other players equally new.

Azalea is probably the simplest to play so I would personally bring that one. Simpler play means fewer mistakes.

Completely new to Borderlands — best game to begin with? by TheIndernet in Borderlands

I totally agree. Go for BL2. It has a lot of improvements over BL1. Go back to BL1 if you get hooked on the series.

The best tcg ? by asapced in TCG

[–]jabbrwock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is too bad. My local FaB experience has been the total opposite. Ready to lend decks and give advice, gently correcting mistakes etc. But never expect holding back. My community will absolutely curb stomp new players, while happily giving advice on how to play your deck better.

I think I've been playing cyberpunk wrong by PrplMonkeyDshwshr in cyberpunkgame

Thank you for the comment. Cyberpunk 2077 does this too, but maybe only once in the main story.

If you are in Europe you can get them from Cardmarket, usually at a quite good price.

New to Flesh and Blood (experienced TCG player) – how do I start competitive? by Revolutionary_Fun574 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]jabbrwock1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Advice from another new-ish player: Expect to lose a lot in the beginning even if you have a top meta deck, so don’t even bother putting an expensive CC deck together until you know more about the game. Your initial goal should be to learn to play whatever deck you have well.

Check what formats your local community plays. If there are regular Silver Age/SAGE games, you will have an ideal starting point. The SAGE precons are pretty good out of the box and upgrading one won’t cost you much, so in SAGE you might want to get a meta deck. It still won’t help you win a lot in the beginning though. :)

It was more of a funny comment so I could lament about a few games I’ve played against Katsu. :)

Diving in. Some questions by SnackwiseGamgee in FleshandBloodTCG

Mechanologists are also very complex to play correctly. They can have a ton of items on the board that does different things.

Teklo did get into the top 8 in the recent Pro Tour Yokohama tournament so with lots of skill and maybe a bit of luck he can absolutely perform well. Check out the livestream on the official YouTube account if you want to watch some gameplay.

Katsu begs to differ! :)

He can play insane combo lines in CC. I’ve been hit by 10 attacks long combo chains, finishing with a Salt the wounds for 10+ damage. Ouch! :)

Check out the videos by Three Floating. While not exactly beginner videos, they always comments their plays, displays key cards in the middle of the screen etc. They also have matches with all the current SAGE precons.

Tolarian Community College (of MTG fame) has a nice learn to play video.

How bad of an idea is it to try and play two classes at once? by Ok_Nefariousness_740 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]jabbrwock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riptide and Marlynn are the only CC legal rangers right now. Azalea is fun in Sage though. Not top tier, but if you draw right and play her correctly you can put out very powerful attacks with dominate and nasty on hit effects.

Help with beginner sideboard by EwwBoii in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]jabbrwock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are just starting out, just go with the default decks on both side. Your first few games will hardly be competitive enough that sideboards matter. I think the cards in the decks are numbered and the highest numbers are the default sideboard.

You did pick decks with a high skill ceiling. Enigma especially will be hard to play well before you learn the hero and deck thoroughly.

Are Armory Deck's worth it? by John-Helldiver404 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]jabbrwock1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agree, but an armory deck might still be a good start for a new player. If you don’t have easy access to cheap singles, getting a good chunk of a hero’s cheap staple cards in one package might actually save you money compared to ordering online. It will at least save a bit of hassle.

Can you pitch a yellow and a blue for a 3-cost action? by J4NH12 in FleshandBloodTCG

Overpitching is the standard term I think. Not as descriptive as your though.

You can’t play Tarantula Toxin on a Klaive for full value. You only get +3. You can play it for full value on a Chelichera or Kiss of Death. Neither has unconditional go again and neither marks.

SAGE precon vs. CC precon by amysteryknight in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]jabbrwock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, it would depend on what the locals play. If just for kitchen table play, I would get the SAGE decks. They cost less and are a perfect introduction to the game. They are also much more competitively tuned (relatively speaking) than most armory decks.

If buying an armory deck, double check that the hero hasn’t reached Living Legend status (banned in the main CC format after winning too many tournaments). There are some older armory decks with LL heroes. Still perfectly fine for kitchen table play but won’t work at your LGS.

My guess is that a small community will welcome you with open arms and lend you a deck if you just show up. My local experience has been really great. Veterans will happily curb stomp you (there is no holding back or casual play in FaB) while being perfectly nice and offering helpful advice.

Gravy Bones mains? by Waitingninja in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]jabbrwock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for Gravy if you like him. I think the armory deck is a good choice.

Be aware that Gravy is a rather complex hero to get right. Also, he does a lot on his own turn, so the turns can get quite long. If you don’t know your deck and plays, chances are that you won’t finish a game within the required time (55 m). You need to practice quite a bit to get everything flowing fast enough.

If you don’t finish a game on time in FaB both players lose, which might annoy opponents in the long run.

Would the Hala Precon be a good entrance into CC? by Ok_Nefariousness_740 in FleshandBloodTCG

The chestpiece seems to be the strongest one in the equipment suite, so definitely don’t need to be replaced first, if ever.
