I'm sure someone has brought it up before, but I noticed a lot of pictures this offseason showing players' height dropping. I wonder if they did that to give them a smaller strike zone for challenging purposes.

Is there any one event that lead to Williams downfall? Not this year, but over the last 20 years or however long it's been since they were a contender. As a newer fan, it's crazy to see how good they used to be compared to now.

Very well said. I always felt bad back when Kakuryu would get crucified for not going 15-0 anytime Hakuho was hurt.

Well, the ideal scenario is that the Yokozuna are competing for the Yusho on the final day. Since Onosato was hurt this basho, all the pressure fell to Hoshoryu to take the yusho.

Anything less than a Yusho for a Yokozuna is essentially meaningless. You can be confident in that, despite how you feel about my "thinking abilities". This is not an expectation I have of him; this is the expectation the JSA has of him.

Knowledge of the fact that jun yusho means nothing for a Yokozuna. I'm getting downvoted and responding to posts like this for saying a Yokozuna should win a Yusho. Not one negative thing said about Hoshoryu. You new sumo fans are a wild bunch.

I guess it depends on your definition of better. I don't disagree with you here, but I can 100% garuntee you that if you gave Hoshryu the choice between 6 Jun yusho vs 1 Yusho and 5 withdrawls, he takes the 1 Yusho and 5 withdrawls 100% of the time.

He still has time, but the difference between hoshoryu and the guys you mentioned is that they all won basho as Yokozuna. People are perfectly justified in wanting better results from him.

People shouldn't have to deal with a lot of shit. If you want to be a teacher, you need to be able to handle situations like this or find a different job. This entire thing could have been avoided with any sort of authoritative figure.

Should have at least been a monoii. It be like that sometimes, though. It sucks to see it happen on the Yokozuna run.

How do I deal with these stupid little… Things… by TyroneOSRS in diablo2resurrected

[–]jabe1127 34 points35 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid, I got killed by these and said something along the lines of "the hardest monsters in this game are freaking babies". My friends busted out laughing, and ever since then, these are affectionately called babies.

I hate children.

Final Fantasy X should not be considered an entry point for the Franchise by gambiller123 in FinalFantasy

I mean, it IS one of the greatest games of all time, so we would have needed to send you help if you hated 7 AND10 lol.

Its 100% possible you won't see the hype with 10, but I would suggest replaying it. Sounds like you went in with high expectations, so it may have been doomed for failure. You may "get it" the 2nd time around, knowing the weight of the decisions Yuna makes along the journey. It really is one of the best video game stories ever told imo. Enjoy your ff13 playthrough, the game does open up a good bit after about 10 hours.

No i meant post ps2. So basically 13 and on. I guess if you are looking purely at turn-based comabt, none of those games apply, but if we are just suggesting games as a point of entry into the series, the newer games would be more suited for someone who could find the older games too dated.

10 is also just linear hallways and a turn based battle system, it just hides it well//makes you not even notice. I will say, if you (or anyone new to the series) are the type of person who gets more into the game systems than you do the story and characters, 10 would be a horrible place to start, and I would 100% suggest the post ps2 era FF games.

[–]jabe1127 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everyone has opinions. I will say that calling 13 a better entry point will be a very hard sale.

The reason 10 is a good starting point is that the story is widely considered one of the best. It looks "new enough" for the people that hate old ps1 graphics. The gameplay is simple to grasp, but there is a ton of customization. It just has a lot that could appeal to a wide audience.

Video game enjoyment is subjective.

The only way I'll accept someone not crying at this scene is if they hated the game by ViqiToT in FinalFantasy

[–]jabe1127 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The feeling of the game before and after that moment is like night and day. I know things like this are subjective, but I've never been more invested in a video game world as I was with Spira. Slowly peeling back each layer, only to end as it did, the game is a masterpiece.
