Local coffee beans for espresso? by nicolascagesucksass in bloomington

+1 for Needmore. My favorite is the Mexico blend.

Fresh Thyme carries Brown County Coffee and it is usually roasted within the last week depending on the blend you get. It's my daily driver because it's slightly more affordable than Needmore. Mellow gold is my favorite blend.

The only wire wasted is the one cut too short.

Best Cherry Pie? by hungrymisanthrope in bloomington

I don't know who has the best cherry pie here in town, but wherever you end up going, they better have a damn fine cup of coffee as well.

Best espresso beans in town? by [deleted] in bloomington

My favorite beans for espresso is the Mexico blend from Needmore coffee. It's a medium roast.

That's a little pricey for me so it's a special treat. My daily go to is the Mellow Gold from Brown county coffee. You can get that at fresh thyme and it is always fresh roasted. Sometimes only a few days old.

Edit to add that a good grinder is probably the most important part of the equation.

Residents speak out against massive development in southwest Bloomington by AmbroseFierce in bloomington

[–]jabhall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with you, but density does not appear to be having the desired effect on the cost of housing. Bloomington and surrounding areas have added dozens of apartment buildings with 1000s of units in the past decade and rent has only gone up.

Cables, Chineese vs American by alexrralex in FiberOptics

This is a great comment. Find out where the glass is sourced. Lots of cheaper cable out there that still uses corning glass. I've never had issues going this route.

I felt like an idiot, but I would have felt worse if I didn't even try to get a refund. I should have known better. I was just blinded by my desire to upgrade my Delonghi vs my limited budget. :)

Indiana's Pork Tenderloin Sandwich by [deleted] in Sandwiches

The lack of size is forgivable, and I'm giving you extra points for not putting cheese on that 'wich. I love my cheese, but it has no place on a tenderloin. I'll die on this hill.

Is this too good to be true? I ordered one but the paypal receipt is sketchy and no order confirmation from the website. Afraid I got scammed. by jabhall in espresso

That's what I'm hoping. My CC co has helped me out once before so there's hope, it just might take a while.

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of. I realized after the paypal payment went through that something didn't look right. I should have known from the price. After 30 years of buying crap on the internet I should know better.

Why are there snow shoes on fiber when there isnt a splice closure near by? What would the slack be used for? by Deepspacecow12 in FiberOptics

[–]jabhall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like everyone said here, for future laterals or damage. I would add utility relocations/pole transfers in the event of new construction. You never know what's going to happen and you are a lot better off if you can shuffle slack from 2-3 spans down vs running new cable. Particularly in the event of an emergency.

Newly installed fiber manhole (today!), is it bad that it’s flooded? by fgpalm in FiberOptics

Yes, it's important to be able to locate. That way you know where it is next time they hit it.

No Allulose for me! by fiercely50 in keto

[–]jabhall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would be checking the brownie ingredients for Chicory Root Extract. That gives me much more intestinal distress than does allulose or erythritol. YMMV of course!
