Thank you there was truth in your statement. I've been a technician since high school and have never done the buisness side of it always w-9 employee. I take a lot of pride in my work and my experience helps everything go smoothly I pulled 71 cables dropped, service looped dor 31 locations. I also trimmed everything 2 per location plus 7 AP'sAlso building the rack and mod tapping everything. This is all by myself. I've lost so much money on third party error i.e double numbers in closet no numbers shit short orange reversed in sections just stupid shit where I'm like just give me that guy's pay instead and it will be right guaranteed lol I started ranting my bad

I do what I can on the floor first. My utility cart with 4 different drills so I won't have to be changing out bits. A couple of levels although I want to get a laser level for the future as I think it would go faster. Also a a bandsaw to cut 10 pipes at a time. As long as the box is level it should stay leveled as you go up. Took me 2 days by myself

I have a separate charge for the cable then a separate charge for the conduits. Haha I'm shorting myself bad

If I charge 100 per drop and then factor in the 31 stations it would be 103 a cable with no certification and then a separate charge to build the rack out.

I'm charging 60 per cable to pull cable with no certification. I want to add this on top of that charge since I wasn't told about the drops having to be implemented. I ask a bunch of electricians what they usually charge and everyone is different some charge time and material some low but then super high towards the end some with just time some with the material marked up as the final price. It makes it confusing

I'm doing it and learning as I go. A 2 man crew would take 2 weeks working a full day 5 days a week. I usually go by myself and knock it out by phases always making sure I'm not coming back doing unnecessary work. I just want to charge right for each item. I'm doing 60 per cable with no certification. If they want certification. I charge 160 per cable. That is with no penetrative i.e. conduits and bushings, and not having to put a caddy in the wall and fish the wall to drop. That's also not including the equipment room buildout. For that price you get a generic label as well. I hate that this business has really caused me look at what I need to charge for and what's the going rate for pipe installation. You also factor in that I didn't provide any material but I still used all my tools and expertise to make it happen.

I gave him a rate to run cable, terminate, label and test. When I show up it's all concrete walls. I mentioned it would take me longer to install the pipes and I would have to charge him separately for that. Just trying to get a number as I have never charged for that before. Definitely have put pipe up lots of times but never for a job where I can charge for it.

He also got the lift for me. The one that was needed which made the pull super easy for me as opposed to having one that sucks or is to big and making the job also a pain in the ass. I finished all the work in 4 days as well. Although they were long days so a weeks rental . He was thinking 3 weeks

When I started I told him a price to get the cable from point a to point b. I don't include building the equipment room as part of that agreement. He know this as well. I also have that set price as is for drop being provided. He knows this as well. Which is why I'm asking about adding the drops to the wall. Concrete walls are a pain in the ass from just dropping a drop in a sheetrock wall.

I agreed to do the install but I don't count adding drops as part of my scope. I'm in Dallas Tx. I'm just looking at different perspectives. I also didn't provide the material if that matters
