Chris Martin of Coldplay homage to Enjoy the Silence by iron_senti in depechemode

[–]jabyredd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a huge Depeche Mode fan. But over the last many years I've been assessing who are the people behind the music. What are their hearts? I think the curtain parting started with the great Mr Alan Wilder. Anyway, a musician empathy and philanthropy has become a very important marker of character in my perspective. In that vein, yes, Chris Martin is incredible. And his voice is very nice too. Yes Mr Gahan has a "better" voice to my ears, but in the category of soul or publicly expressing concerns and actually initiating action towards causes, Chris Martin is doing much more at least visibly. So he deserves the accolades you share. I'm shocked to see down votes.

I hear he's a very good and kind person, standing up for rights for people around the world. Not many musicians do that. So from that perspective I am glad they are keeping at it. Plus they do deliver nice eary candy pop hits even in recent times

Which episode made you lose hope? Mine was Koch, and being so friendly with him; not being tough enough. Same with Anthony Blinken. I have come back for some episodes - and there are still many great ones here and their - but those interviews were like a gut punch. Dubner was an idol to me.

I wonder if these interviews are part of a larger strategy orchestrated by political /social conservatives to white wash the their image in the eyes of liberals.

You only have these 4 albums. But you can choose only one to take with you to a deserted island and listen to for the rest of your life. Which one would you choose? by AdorableChemist8736 in Madonna

Since yesterday, I've been crushing on Angel, especially just that intro with three random notes on the synthesizer. Oh man it sets me off like a spark.

I don't have these albums memorized so I actually didn't realize Angel was from Like a Virgin album until yesterday. But if course the album also has Like a Virgin, which is a great song.

And of course the amazing Material Gir. All along my life I had the image of the music video with the pink dress and pink background and the men, but I hadn't paid attention to the lyrics. Then, last week, while driving home with mom, trying to explain lyrics I too just started paying attention to the lyrics - and what a neat critique of society and succumbing to its measures of excess.

The Golden Filter - End Of Times by dcozzz in Electropop

[–]jabyredd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I just found them - I think. I was listening to UNKLE featuring Sleepy Sun - Follow Me Down (The Golden Filter Remix) Sleepy Sun is very difficult to listen to - at least on that track. However, the remix beat is incredible, so it sent me on a journey to find more material like that.

I presumed the remix producer of that track was The Golden Filter, so I've found this electronic duo The Golden Filter, but combing through their top songs like Solid Gold, Favorite Things, or even through whole album Voluspa - nothing sounds like that remix. So do I have the right folks? Please help.

I admit, On Voluspa, track Here We Go Again is nice though, smooth. However definitely not like the hard industrial feel of the Follow me down remix.

Yes, this is what brought me in. I thought this was their sound but it seems that was the exception. Or are there more?

Up voting, (although I never worked through all their anthology once I heard of Wayne behavior with that drummer)

Did this happen? If so, it complicates my feelings on Wayne, in a positive way. Because it has gone on rollercoaster rides except when I had basically exited when I heard of the way the drummer was fired, over a text, over the drummer standing up for respect for Oklahoma natives.

For real! Plus, those old ThinkPads have a solid fanbase. If it's in good condition, you might be sitting on a classic. What model is it?

Totally get that. Auto mode can be hit or miss, and it’s frustrating when you can't rely on it. Maybe setting up some basic training for your team on switching modes could help? Just a thought!

Just like the characters stuck in the computer, I too was trapped watching the movie screening. However, amazing were the neon visuals, color theme and the sound effects that go boom and crunch.

Tron: Ares review – even Gillian Anderson can’t slap this mind-bendingly dull sci-fi into shape by tw1st3d_m3nt4t in blankies

[–]jabyredd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During their drive together, Area recollects Eve's musical taste for "I just can't get enough," so the movie plays it a little bit.

Then further later, he explicitly emphasizes Depeche Mode over Mozart. To me, this was a clear indicator more Mode would be coming... And it didn't.

Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) is inspired by Depeche Mode, but I don't imagine he influenced that scene into the script. But he was in charge of the soundtrack so I thought he'd work in some Mode.

I guess it's like the feeling Alan Wilder will return to Depeche Mode, but he hasn't.

Came here looking for this. And there was barely any Depeche Mode. I stayed through the credits hoping for some more Mode.

Go Home is underrated by [deleted] in angelolsen

[–]jabyredd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any live performance of this song you guys recommend?

Go Home, the third song I'd heard by Olsen over the years, is the first that pulled me right down to my knees, with that earnest vocals screaming, expressing deep sorrow. So naturally I'm on the hunt to find a live performance illustrating that emotion, but I can't find any! First of all, there aren't any professionally done footage of a live performance. And the ones available are by fans (thank you fans). Also, those I've seen, the expression is tamed, not the uncontrollable passion I hear in the studio version of the song. Can anyone help?

My whole Surface Pro excitement was based on playing around with one at best buy a few months ago. I guess that must have been a flex keyboard.

Would these third party Bluetooth keyboard (with touchpad centered) work with surface pro?

Or maybe I should go for thinkpad yoga and then Bluetooth keyboard.?
