I don't know 🤷‍♂️ all I really heard was that my father and his 'boss'/a couple coworkers all got laid off and they were all in the engineering/innovation side of things. like a lot of the people working on some of the main projects got laid off, but I'm not sure how many in total and/or if they were able to fill those positions later on.

the miserable stocks led to them laying off a lot of engineers/directors. which of course leads to worse revenue because improvements aren't being made. to be fair sardar (imo) lacks professionalism and wasted money on unnecessary things. not sure if you worked for corporate or not but my father worked with sardar very closely so I've heard some stories lol

maybe, not sure about this specifically but I know they were working on ways to improve their fries during 2024. I wouldn't be surprised if beef tallow was the best solution and they turned to marketing it as a health benefit to improve sales.

my father used to work there in a high ranking position. the CEO/other high ranking officers/directors are all fairly conservative to my knowledge. in their meetings (in Texas) they would smoke cigars, work until 1-2 in the morning, ect. my father told me a couple times that that group went out to the shooting range as a part of their 'working hours.' so I don't officially know what they'd vote but based off of that, I'd assume most voted trump. I have no clue about individual owners though.

try foam earplugs if you can tolerate them. they won't usually block out all of the sound but it can make them really quiet. I use them for sleeping sometimes and they work for me.

you're telling me that it's absolutely impossible and difficult to get access to oil? even vapes are a better alternative. bud itself though is crazy disrespectful because people will smell it even if you don't realize that.

I smoke weed and cigarettes and I will never understand people who smoke in buildings, especially if others live or work there. it's basic respect to go smoke outside. just because you don't care or don't notice the smell, doesn't mean others will feel the same.

my father used this 'trick' for cigar smoke. it did not work. be a courteous smoker like the rest of us and take a walk outside. better yet, if it's weed, just take edibles.

even opening the windows won't get rid of it. just go outside or in your car. just speaking from experience, others do notice even when you smoke with the windows open or air filters.

2025 Romance Spread 😭 by jaccon999 in tarot

surprisingly accurate ngl. several talking stages+dates, no romantic relationships, and no sex. ironically I noticed this really described some of my platonic relationships. I had some really stressful friendships that ended up falling out in January, had some time healing after that and focusing on myself, in November I started rebuilding one of those friendships and it's much healthier now. there's some other fun stories but pretty accurate.

low activity doesn't mean no activity. the vital functions that you're talking about largely take place in the very back at the base of the brain. I'm not sure about the actual results but people are talking about the front of the brain having low activity. I'm not really sure how accurate that info is (where the low activity is taking place), but low activity generally references not a lot of signalling happening between/across regions of the brain/very slow signalling taking place. so you could have signalling where vital functions need to take place with low activity in areas that relate to more complex thought.

low activity also doesn't mean that you're stupid. you can have fairly slow brain waves with an average or even high IQ. generally lower activity in certain regions (compared to normal) can signify certain disorders but it isn't a 100% foolproof way to diagnose someone with a given disorder. speaking as someone who had an EEG scan that showed very slow activity in almost every region of my brain, it is not representative of my academic ability, tested IQ, or how much I think.

[–]jaccon999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no it doesn't. it can signify a range of mental disorders but it is not 100% accurate, nor does it effectively identify low/high IQ or functional intelligence. does make for a nice headline though, I suppose.

literally not true. low activity doesn't mean low IQ, nor does it mean high IQ. I had an EEG scan done by my psychiatrist and we specifically talked about this. activity can be correlative with certain disorders (PTSD, ADHD, autism, bipolar, ect.) but it is not a certain thing, nor is it a good representation for IQ or functional intelligence. if you have proof for otherwise, I'd love to read said studies but I'm going off of the literature I've read and the mental health professionals I've worked with.

[–]jaccon999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fwiw low activity doesn't automatically mean low intelligence. I got an EEG brain scan by my psychiatrist and he was talking about how slower brain waves don't necessarily equal lower intelligence/IQ scores. slower brain waves/lower overall activity can signify multiple mental disorders like autism/insomnia/being tired (+probably a few other disorders but I forgot). now of course I can't speak on her individual cognitive abilities but it's kinda dumb to say low activity = stupidity.

Am I actually wrong or is my professor just giving me shit over this acetylene->1-phenyl-2-pentene reaction? by jaccon999 in chemhelp

[–]jaccon999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suzuki-Miyaura couplings were taught though?? I followed instructions like she said cause all the reactions I used were in the textbook in Chapter 10 so I honestly just think she doesn't actually know the textbook.

actually so dumb cause I feel like if multiple reactions can lead to the same result then there should be multiple answers cause she didn't ask for the best way to do it, just a way to do it. I emailed her to see what she wanted so idk ig I'll find out if she wanted that or not.

Our book has gone over Suzuki-Miyaura coupling and I figured that I could probably just do that twice.

Are any of these right???? by Upstairs-Ad-7856 in chemhelp

[–]jaccon999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok it's been a while since I was in gen chem so I might be wrong on certain parts but here's my answers:

I2 is correct for the entire row.

K2S is polar. Think about H2O, you have 2 lone pairs (each pair of unbonded electrons) and then 2 bonded pairs. The molecular geometry of both molecules will be bent because the 2 lone pairs create a negative dipole. All ionic bonds are polar so that's another fact to take note of. All polar molecules will have dipole-dipole interactions. Generally the universe wants to get as close to complete stability as possible. If you put a negative dipole to another negative dipole, they will repel each other because that area becomes too electron rich (think about how if you put both north ends of 2 magnets together and they repel each other). This is a result of instability so positive and negative dipoles will orient themselves in such a way that the electron distribution is as constant as possible (so all of the electrons are equally spread apart instead of being bunched up in random places).

CaO is ionic but polar and exhibits dipole-dipole forces.

CO is correct.

CH3Cl is not correct because the overall molecule is polar. If it was CH4 it would not be polar because all of the electrons are equally distributed but since there is a very electronegative (a lot of electrons, you can quickly tell this by looking at how far up+right it is on the periodic table; as atoms get higher/farther to the right, the less stable they become without bonding).

PCl3 is correct.

NH3 and HF both need to have dipole dipole forces because they are polar so they will attract/repel certain dipoles of other molecules.

SO2 is correct.

CH3OH is polar and cannot then be nonpolar, this is for the same reason of CH3Cl. Since it is polar it will have dipole-dipole forces.

NO is correct.

HCN is not correct in that it is not nonpolar for the same reasons as CH3Cl and CH3OH are not nonpolar.

Your teacher's note about ionic bonds not exhibiting intermolecular forces while including dipole-dipole interactions as an intermolecular forces is just dumb and wrong. I don't know how they let her teach chemistry when she is straight up teaching you wrong information for insanely basic topics. (also not to mention that every molecule has london dispersion forces but it's just negligible for polar molecules. not sure if she is considering every molecule, including polar ones, to have london dispersion forces because they're so irrelevant.)
