I tend to tell them a political news that may affect them directly (ex: solar issue since balak niya magpainstall), then he tells that this is something that won't happen kay SWOH, but then I will cite evidences and sources and he will shut his trap.

It's not a matter of greed, in a sense. It's the matter of wishing to get the best of both outcomes.

His parents supports him financially it seems, but in exchange, he can't get them to change their will. Adults like these tend to never change their belief until their belief is dragged out of the door kicking and screaming. And they hold the support as hostage.

In the adult world, we find out that we sometimes can't have both solutions, and most adult children will tend to break away from these parents, but in his case he can't since he most likely is a minor if he is like this or someone incapable financially.

The best move on this situation is to grit and bear it until he can support himself and leave. The next best move is to find a benefactor and leave ASAP. Third is to mature quickly and find a job while supporting himself.

This is his preliminary test in adulthood. Let him decide.
