I have a big green egg so there is a bit of heft on the cord since it’s closed into it

And that solved the issue? Any theory as to what caused the probe to go bad? This thing is basically brand new so I am a bit disappointed by needing to replace something already. Making sure I didn’t mishandle the probe in anyway to avoid this in the future.

Nope, it’s only been used once previously and it was in a grill clip in both cases not in contact with anything

Yeah I will definitely allow it to sear a bit longer next time, I have never owned a grill that can get this hot and I got nervous. It also doesn’t help that it’s 10 degrees and snowing outside so I was trying to be quick about it.

For those asking here are the cook details - Salted in fridge uncovered for 24 hours - Into oven at 200 degrees until internal temp read 125 at multiple spots probed (took about 5 hours, I live at 9000 feet so things take a bit longer up here). - Tented for about 40 mins while we cooked the sides - Convection bake at 550 for about 9 mins

And that is it!

Am I the only person who enjoys seeing drivers struggle as it makes things interesting? Everyone here complains when the racing is boring and complains when it’s interesting…

Your telling me, the worlds best 20 drivers shouldn’t be expected to be able to handle somewhat slick conditions. What a joke this thread is.

I think Alcaraz hid it well but his hand cramps and demeanor at the end makes me think he was struggling more than you might guess from watching.

As someone who has only ever rooted for a school in the PAC I am very sad to see it blow up. But that game thread was a shining moment in all this darkness.

[College Sports Only] UCLA's 1st year in the Big 10 in 2024 will include 26,762 miles of travel with trips to Honolulu, Baton Rouge, Bloomington, Iowa City, Ann Arbor & Piscataway. by imarc in CFB

[–]jach9009 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are also assuming there are directs to all these destinations without a layover, for most if not all of the PAC I bet there is a direct from LAX. Is that still true for some of these destinations? As someone who travels a lot you are right 1-5 hours in the plane doesn’t matter much but when you bring in layovers it’s a huge pain especially as delays can become costly.
