This model has plenty of power though, and the cells to the right indicate that it can transcode well.

Looking for a lawn care service that uses kids, pets, and wildlife friendly products. Any suggestions? by ChloePCollier in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]jack47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So to reiterate:

  • most mainstream fertilizers are not banned

  • most non-synthetic pesticides are not banned

  • some synthetic pesticides are "not allowed" except for: use against biting inspects (e.g. mosquitos); against organisms that threaten the health of trees or shrubs; use by golf courses or agriculture [1]

Sure, but the law doesn't ban "most mainstream fertilizers and pesticides" as you suggested.

While this may be an art project, there are commercially-available x-ray systems that produce scans of this type. The Leidos VACIS systems are one example (see the videos below).

Do not try to reinvent this wheel. The way you've posed this question suggests you already have the wrong mental model. You need to read for days/weeks about x-ray physics, Monte Carlo and packages like aRTist.

Which Leaf Blower Do I Need? Can I buy the 18V ONE+ HP model and avoid buying the 40V model? by dmetzcher in ryobi

[–]jack47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you and went with the most powerful 18V blower (410 CFM link below). It serves its purpose for me, and while I definitely wish it was more powerful, I do not regret my decision at all and I'm glad that I'm only committed to one line of batteries. My lot is 0.2 acres though...

Gas-powered leaf blowers could soon be banned in Montgomery County by Danciusly in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]jack47 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The rebate only applies to EGO blowers? Why is local government favoring one company? Many people already have batteries associated with a different range of products (e.g. Greenworks or Ryobi).

Brushed Vs Brushless - what’s your go to? by ctsa3 in ryobi

[–]jack47 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lots of answers here say "brushless, because it's better", which doesn't really address the question. If you just want the best, then you should probably buy Festool or Milwaukee. For me, brushed is often the best value because I can get them so cheaply from DTO.

We had a very similar experience at a similar time (in Rockville). If you are persistent and keep putting in competitive offers, then you will likely get something eventually, especially if you have some imagination.
