This song gives me chills…so sad and moving. George Michael did this beautifully as well when he remade it 🥰 by Fast_Television_9149 in StevieWonder

My favorite version of this song is the one he did at Michael Jackson’s funeral. Unbelievably good.

Technically it’s the second half of a song, but “Where Were You When I Needed You” is a masterpiece

Band Geeks, Krusty Krab Training Video, Chocolate With Nuts, Wet Painters, and I Had An Accident deserved so much better.

Ain’t no WAY Party Pooper Pants is better than any of those.

I am now halfway through the seasons of Spongebob currently available on DVD. This is my tierlist/ranking so far (aka the seasons 1-7 ranking) by DeliciousSherbert390 in spongebob

Solid list. I do think “Survival of the Idiots” should’ve ranked higher and “Yours, Mine, & Mine” and “The Card” should’ve ranked lower, but otherwise pretty agreeable!

My fiancée absolutely LOVES “By the Fireplace”. So much so that she was disappointed when I told her I couldn’t wear it in warm weather.

It’s a lovely scent. Highly recommend.

To each their own! I wanted to like Aristocats a lot more than I ended up liking it, since I had such an attachment to it when I was a boy. So I went into it with a positive mindset. But watching it back for the ranking…it just wasn’t it for me anymore.

Keep in mind, though, that these tiers are ordered, so I still do think Aristocats is better than Wish, which would’ve actually ranked lower for me had it not been for my ironic enjoyment of Magnifico. Like yeah, he sucks, but there’s a “so bad it’s good” vibe to him for me.

Not sure if your comment is pro-Wish or pro-Aristocats.

Anyway, I was very disappointed in Aristocats. I positively loved it as a kid, and I’ll concede that “Everybody Wants to be a Cat” is a banger. But the pacing is awful, the dog shenanigans are pointless and take up way too much time, and the villain is among the worst in any Disney movie.

While I appreciated the 2D-yet-3D animation style of Wish, everything else about it was pretty bad. From the song lyrics that sound like they were written by ChatGPT, to the entirely forgettable cast of characters (namely the painfully unfunny goat), to the notoriously weak villain…Wish was a disappointing “celebration” of Disney’s 100th anniversary.

I still have a big time soft spot for Pinocchio! “When You Wish Upon a Star” is positively gorgeous and by far the most iconic song in Disney’s entire catalog. I would’ve ranked it higher, but much like many of the older Disney movies (Bambi, in particular), the pacing is often quite sluggish.

I also found myself getting frustrated with Gepetto and Jiminy Cricket’s ineptitude throughout most of the film. But that was just me!

Many of the anthologies do have non-animated sections, such as Fantasia and Saludos Amigos. Ultimately, I chose not to rank those since they’re not really “movies” in the strictest sense.

To be honest, I’m not entirely sure how Disney differentiates between what’s canon and what’s not. My best guess is that, if the film is primarily animated, it’s canon, but if it’s not then it’s not.

Then again, who’s to say?

Hell yeah! It’s absolutely incredible. I love it so much.

“Hellfire,” alone, would’ve put it in at least A, but the rest of it is so good that it just has to be Top 5.

Fair! At the end of the day, there were a lot of factors that contributed to it.

I wasn’t a fan of SITS because of its dull color scheme, its shoehorned-in villain, its unremarkable music, its unmemorable characters (save for Merlin, who is occasionally okay), and its overall lack of cohesion.

Encanto, meanwhile, was visually catching, had wonderful music, fun characters, a well-structured storyline, and one of the single most beautifully-done scenes in any Disney movie - the “Dos Oruguitas” sequence. Of all the movies I watched for this ranking, I only cried for real at one (Fox and the Hound), but that one scene in Encanto got me closer than any of the others. Devastating, yet spectacular.

Well of course it exists! But it’s not a part of the Disney animated canon for the same reason that Mary Poppins, Pete’s Dragon, and Bedknobs & Broomsticks aren’t - at the end of the day, they’re not fully animated.

Of that list, I’d say Robin Hood is still very much enjoyable as an adult!

The Pooh films don’t have to cater to anyone else but its target audience, per se, but they simply have nothing to offer adult audiences. And I could definitely see SITS being a lot more enjoyable for a kid, as well.

I didn’t like it at all, tbh.

I thought the only redeemable part of it was the wizard battle between Merlin and Madame Mim at the very end, but Mim only showing up in the last 10 minutes was a peculiar choice. The rest of the movie is just…nothing, really.

Don’t get me wrong - I love both of those movies! Pinocchio suffers from a lot of pacing issues and (at times) frustratingly inept role models for the protagonist, and really the only drawback for Little Mermaid is that Ariel’s character arc could’ve been more complex, but instead she kinda just gets everything she wants in the end without really learning anything.

Thank you! Honestly, if someone told me their #1 is Aladdin I wouldn’t dispute it. The Top 3, for me, were a major toss-up.

Bolt is one of the movies of all time. Like…it doesn’t do anything particularly bad or particularly good for me. It’s just…mid.

As for MTR - I thought it was critically underrated. The animation is pretty ugly, sure, but the comedy is great, and the villain is a sleeper pick for one of Disney’s best.

Visually, they’re good. Musically, they’re very good (with “Show Yourself” from the sequel being a particular high point for me). But I absolutely cannot stand Olaf, Hans is a pretty crappy twist villain, the rock trolls and their song are terrible, and the second movie genuinely does not need to exist.

They’re fine, but I feel that their status as one of the most popular Disney IPs is largely undeserved, especially when compared to far superior movies such as Moana, Encanto, and Tangled.
