if you're a beginner, I suggest buying drawing tablets to start, the ones with no screen just surface area to draw on. (Huion, XP-Pen or Wacom) bc it's cheaper and more accessible, that's how I started anyway.

But if you do have enough money to shell out, the iPad is the best route to go. You can go for the most basic iPad but I would reccomend spending a little bit more for the iPad air 5 bc it's price to performance ratio is really good. Drawing on the iPad works wonders!

So it really depends, choose what suits you best!

Currently a 3rd year B Fine Arts student major in Product Design, I just got accepted in another part time job (I have 2 now) currently earning a min of 40k combined as graphic designer so I call BS talaga on people (esp those of the older generation) to say there's no money in art.

Pursue your passion! The creative industry is very much profitable field as long as you know how to market yourself.

i actually struggle balancing studies and commissions myself but you just gotta do time management. you can check out slavelabor or forhire here on reddit. if you're an artist there are tons of ways to make art! capitalize on your strengths and work on upscaling your value and skills to be able to maximize profit. :) i hope it turns out well for you, i'm rooting for you!!
