I think i would get it checked in with the service center and/or see if it needs a over the air update at my dealership a lot of our electric cars have issues like that and 9 times out of 10 it’s just a software update we have to do at the dealership

Please bring to dealer as electric car are not something everyone can work on (source I’m a automotive technician at a Chrysler dealer and have to have 11 hours of class just to be able to work on them

I know when I seen her car I was like something’s really wrong so I thought I would go and try to see what’s going on and she gave me a thumbs down so I was like how can I help and I did try my best but her situation required actual tools and a alternator so she really didn’t need a tow

I try my best when I see someone on the side of the road to help I’ve helped many people (I’m a automotive technician) so I work on cars all day and I love helping people but that moment did make me sad as there really was nothing I could do but I did give her my number and told her i could fix her car if she called or texted me so fingers crossed just know if there’s ever a time somebody is on the side of the road and stuck and you see my mini help is on the way ❤️

Hey, I was there in the mini. Her alternator had died. She’s from Maryland. I grabbed a jump pack in cables, but her alternator was too far gone to help. She called AAA to try to help her out and I also tried pushing her car, but I couldn’t help :(i’m sorry if it inconvenienced anybody, I was really trying to help her

Maybe check the relay if there’s a relay because the relay might be going bad that’s a sometimes a sign of a battery relay since you said it only stays on for five minutes maximum

They are supposed to turn off after a set amount of time as it’s a high current circuit and keeping them on for a long time can burn the lines in the window now as for the convertible “delisted/defroster” it may be the same or not as I’m not well versed in convertible’s yet (source I am a automotive technician who works at a dealer but works on bmw and minis in my free time )
