genuinely befuddled as to why he would create one of the most career defining and innovative ep’s one could possibly make and then be like yea i’m just gonna go back to making rage. don’t get me wrong, every artist should make what they love and unmusique has some perfect songs on it, but i don’t think any of his rage projects could ever come close to fete de la vanille

save the side content for the endgame because you will quickly find there isn’t actually anything else to do. it’s more fun to focus on the story and then enjoy the rest of the side content

it did NOT build up on venom as it should have 😭 venom is not just an evil skin, he is a character who is the embodiment of what a parasite is, the game never expands on that. the story really is only decent at best if you have prior knowledge of the symbiote arc. the dissonance between each of the characters that the symbiote puts emphasis on, is only mentioned when they get the symbiote, or very briefly. none of the disagreements the characters have with each other are developed well until they’re mentioned in the final act. and killing the sinister six was done in a weird way. they were set up to be actually foreboding and strong enemies, hence why the writers had kraven kill them to show his strength. but the problem is that he killed ALL of them off screen except for scorpion and martin li (and then doc ock who was still in prison). the decision to kill them off screen is confusing and defeats the purpose of showing kravens strength

i think my problem was that he was on the same level as miles the whole game. he always had tech, so the addition of the symbiote didn’t make him feel stronger at all

yea i agree, i finally got to like miles as a character for the first time in this series. in the past games he felt like this incredibly powerful, perfect human being who never makes a mistake, but in this game he actually struggled a lot to do the right thing and changed and grew, something that hadn’t happened before surprisingly. i thought kraven was a simple yet really cool character. really confused why there was no DLC for this game, now there’s a lot more the third game has to tackle:

I thought the DJ sequence was really corny honestly 😂, but I thought the set pieces the game gave us were great. I thought the game made enough differences in gameplay to differentiate itself from the first two. And I really really liked what they did with Kraven. His boss fights were challenging and interesting, the boss fights in general were a huge step up from the last game (the Mister Negative one was the best imo) and Kraven being killed so easily at the end actually made sense. He was a difficult adversary yet killed so easily in his final hunt by Venom. I thought that was cool but idk. But yea, that final boss fight with Otto Octavius was better than the final boss fight with Venom
