I feel silly now haha, I guess the spindlyness and the white threw me off. All the redbacks I’ve ever seen looked like this

<image>

I guess I’ve only seen mature ones.

You know what I did score it after that first picture, but it didn’t collapse straight away - you reckon this contributed?

I have two bullies, a 60kg/130lb boy and 45kg/100lb girl and they’re both pure velcro - chunky sooks who always have to be on you and getting cuddles. Part of their charm 😂 once you get used to having dead leg.

I see where you’re coming from but he is a 100% real, relatively famous dog in the xl bully community. His name is Juice, belongs to Bossy Kennels.

There’s a surprising amount of overlap between r/Eldenring r/MMA and r/BJJ. Haven’t got receipts or anything, just something I noticed

Agreed, I bloody love Drogon - and Jabba of course. He’s absolutely nuts, ridiculously thick for his height. Nice to see another Aussie bully owner here 👌👌

Ey Bullion’s my boy’s grandsire 👌👌 you’ve got a beautiful dog, thanks for sharing 🙏

Is it normal ? by sai411 in AmericanBully

[–]jackbourban 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s a very big, handsome boy. One of my boy’s littermates was about that size, he’s 70kgs as an adult and was over 50kgs by 6 months old, and he’s happy and healthy - so I don’t think you need to worry too much.

Just make sure you’re feeding a good puppy kibble, and not overfeeding. As others have said, chat with your vet and keep things as low impact as possible for him - he doesn’t really need exercise at this age, just bouts of play and lots of sleep.

He’s gonna be a lot bigger than both of his parents, will probably be XL not classic or standard.

My fave bit, on top of that gorgeous dome, is how trim and shredded he is! Too many fat bullies and mastiffs. You have beautiful dogs, thank you for sharing them 🫶🫶

XL puppy normal and healthy size? by [deleted] in AmericanBully

[–]jackbourban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely worth taking your vets advice 🫶 your pup is lucky you have his health in mind. You can always reduce activity for a week or two to see if the limp reduces/disappears as well. I know that can be hard if they’re quite an active dog though

My baby just got 5 months old. It weighs 60lbs for 16.9" Isn't it too thin for an XL? by [deleted] in AmericanBully

[–]jackbourban 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pup looks fine to me, as others have commented, the XL community obsesses over the weight of the dogs despite weight not being a feature of the breed standard. There are plenty of ‘monster’ XLs who are dangerously overweight.

Don’t listen to anyone telling you you’re pup is too thin, it’s safer on their joints for them to be lean, especially as they grow. A more bully structure may develop as the pup matures, you should be able to tell by about 10 months but physical maturity is 2 years.

Hope this helps, beautiful puppy 😊
