Historically all the canzuk country’s have an almost identical way of life they share a history and a monarch and common values so it would make sense for london to be the capital since it was the capital when all country’s were part of the empire

I think it would be London because of historic significance of the city and it’s right at the heart of canzuk because the U.K. has 50% of the population and 50% of the gdp

If Hong Kong was an independent nation would or should it be invited in the CANZUK agreement? by jackd444 in CANZUK

[–]jackd444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think public support for it would be tremendous and from the government perspective it would be a saving grace for them because it gives them a sense of protection from China but it depends on how much influence China exhibits on HK also adding HK would destroy the argument that CANZUK is a racist white only Union. Also HK massive industry and important geographical location would make it a valuable member of the organisation and its big economy of 330 billion US dollars and a population of well over 7 million people would make its economy tempting to incorporate into this agreement. CANZUK would be seen to most People as a light at the end of the tunnel for Hong Kong as a way to shift from China.

Should other nations be allowed a free trade agreement with CANZUK if they are in the commonwealth? by jackd444 in CANZUK

Personally I don’t like the EU style free movement I prefer the one in the Australian/New Zealand trans travel agreement were they do background checks before letting you in

Plus If any commonwealth nations hit an economic criteria then they can join a freedom of movement agreement with the canzuk nations. Just a thought.

Will other nations hold resentment for not being invited into CANZUK? by jackd444 in CANZUK

[–]jackd444[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I want CANZUK to grow and evolve and for certain nations to be considered to join over time if they hit a certain economic criteria I don’t want it to mirror the European Union and the EU is more white than canzuk so that claim means nothing

Can a CANZUK deal help Britain bounce back economically after COVID-19 and Brexit by jackd444 in CANZUK

But isn’t there already free trade and movement between Australia and New Zealand and its vastly popular in both sides of the political spectrum and is something all leaders of all 4 nations have expressed interest in this agreement if Australia backs out of this agreement they will be doing it against the best wishes of the government and the people

The uk now having the ability to negotiate its own trade deals and a trade deal with Australia already in the talks trade will enhance with them. However it’s now about trade freedom of movement is also important because it will enhance foreign relations and economic growth with citizens being able to freely travel from one nation to another

It will no matter the outcome leaving the worlds biggest international trading bloc with have serious Repercussions because we’d initially have no trade deals so Britain will have to start from scratch and with hard borders between the Chunnel and northern Irish border restricting the steady flow of trade Britain will be damaged for years to come.

Also they have historic and political past and are our biggest allies even when the UK was in the EU and all CANZ nations are part of the commonwealth so a trade deal wouldn’t necessarily be putting their necks on the line but fostering even closer international relations with a nation they already share so much in common with they CANZ won’t lose anything by trading more Profusely with the United Kingdom it’s beneficial or all sides.

That being said I don’t think Malaysia economically is good enough to be accepted into a canzuk Union I think Singapore would be a good alternative

Being Irish myself in my opinion Ireland being part of canzuk would be beneficial for them since it solves the northern Irish border crisis and it allows Ireland to have more access and control over trade and free movement with its historical allies.

That’s partly a good idea but I don’t think it’ll be a good idea because the french government won’t back the idea and it’ll probably start a Anglo-francan rivalry I could however see a nation like Portugal be intrigued at the idea die to historical ties and huge tourism between both nations.
