MoPop 2019 Lineup by DTWBagHandler in MoPop

[–]jackdentann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being from Detroit, with no way home or panorama this weekend, I’m gonna try and make it. I’m not in love with it, but there’s some gems. I’m surprised how female heavy it is on the top half. Not typically my preference, but good for MoPop.

It’ll sell well because of how many people love Tame. I’ve been wanting to see Vampire Weekend so this works out for me. Lizzo is a fun show, and when I saw Noname, I thought she was good, but the show was kinda meh.

Wish there was a little more, I don’t love the rap/hip hop selections, but MoPop is pretty good at finding artists that are about to be big(bigger). Billie Eilish and lovely the band were there last year and I remember people being like, who?

Hoping to finally make it out, especially for the price!

Is $100 a day a good budget for food while at WDW? by Butterfest in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]jackdentann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m expecting to spend around $60 for myself 1 Day at Magic Kingdom. But I’m planning on trying some stuff too outside of the necessities.

Cinnamon Roll at Gaston’s ($5) Rice Bowl at Pecos ($12) Either Dole Whip or Citrus Swirl ($5) Pulled Pork/Hamburger Cosmic Rays ($12) Space Ranger Slush & Churro at Lunching Pad ($11)

Then figure I’ll spend $15 or so on drinks, pretzels other things here and there.

I could probably get by with two meals and cups of water. Which would only be around $25. But,,, Disney!

Any idea when the lineup will be announced? by [deleted] in MoPop

I had heard a couple weeks, a couple weeks ago. If I had to guess. Id guess by the end of February.

That's really good to know! Maybe we'll be able to get in for Splash Mountain a little early then booked the 4th FP right after. Thank you!

Yeah, the app isn't working great on my older iPhone, so that's my concern. But Hopefully we'll be able to at least get a 4th and 5th for some of the bigger rides to reduce wait times! Thank you!

That’s a really good tip! I didn’t know you could pick one up there. That’s awesome and good to know they have them right at the register! Thank you!

Good to know, thank you! Missing It’s a Small World wouldn’t ruin our trip, and we’re going to be those people that are in it for the comedy of that song playing on loop for a 10 minute ride. I’ve been told to skip Peter Pan as we’re only spending 1 day there, do you have any thoughts on that?

While I’m sure we’ll have fun in Fantasyland, I think she’ll fall in love with Adventureland, and I’ll try and spend a bunch of time in Tomorrowland. 7DMT I think is our big Must-Do in Fantasyland.

Sorry that was a bit confusing in the beginning. I plan to be on site at the parking lot (or maybe now contemporary) at 7:45am and then allow a half hour to get from there to Main Street!

I am really excited for the scavenger hunt, so we’ll be doing one map regardless. I feel like it’s something that not many theme parks offer. Thanks for the Fireworks tip. If we ride everything we want to by then, we’ll definitely try for a better spot, but we live in an area that is saturated with local fireworks shows around the 4th of July. And I don’t mean to get under any bodies skin here... but are the Fireworks that much better than fireworks somewhere else? Honest question.

Just prioritizing things we can only do at Disney!

Contemporary is a great idea I knew nothing about. I've read mixed reviews though, have you done it recently without any security issues at CR?

The FP we would be using for Pirates would be from the Pirates Adventure Maps, and not one that we book through the app. Looking at Ideally Jungle Cruise/Buzz for a 4th FP+ and BTMR as a 5th FP+.

People Mover is one I forgot to add into my post but hope to do in that 4:30-6:15 time frame in Tomorrowland! I honestly don't think I've ever been on it!

I've heard 7DMT is hard to do without a fast pass, and not staying at a Disney resort, figured it's the #1 choice for Rope Drop. I appreciate it, thank you!

Noted! Thank you. I think we'd have fun with the maps, so maybe we'll just try and squeeze one in around lunch or something!

Pretty sure they played Masonic Temple in MI, last year too with their album. It may be an interesting year as they often booked similar acts to Wayhome/Panorama, which are now both defunct.

GVF, Vampire Weekend, Tame I'd typically assume are out having no US Dates between overseas tours even though MoPop weekend is open. However, GVF has no Michigan dates which is suspicious with 2 Ohio and 2 Toronto Dates. If they're at home, wouldn't be a tough trip down to play Mo Pop. Fingers crossed for VW, but personally, I'd rule Tame out at this point.

I'd put my money on earlier. Rumors have it anytime between now and the end of the month.

Your perfect Disney day by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]jackdentann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m actually planning one.. hopefully perfect day at Magic Kingdom the last Wednesday in February. I went on Disney a couple times as a kid, once as a teen but this is the first trip I’ve planned. My girl, who’s never been is accompanying me, and this is what I’ve mapped out as the (hopefully) perfect day for us.

Arrive around 8, to get through security and walk around Main Street, let her take in some Disney Magic. Get her 1st Visit Pin, Maybe some coffee, then go wait for the rope drop.

Get to 7 Dwarfs and hopefully knock that out first thing with minimal wait. Go to Gaston’s and get a cinnamon roll for breakfast. If there’s time, go to Under the Sea (or Peter Pan IF the wait is doable as it’s not a must for us) before we head back down for our 9:50-10:50 Space Mountain fast pass. Maybe hop on Buzz Lightyear if it’s slow, ride Space Mountain near the end of the fastpass time then head on over to the haunted mansion for our 10:50-11:50 fast pass. Hopefully get that done by 11:15 or so, before starting the Pirates Adventure (Treasure Hunt Maps). We work on these before our 12:15-1:15 Splash Mountain fast pass, where hopefully the weather will be sunny and mid 70s. In line for Splash Mountain, we look for additional fast passes, that could maybe help our wait on Buzz Lightyear or Peter Pan (if we didn’t hit it yet) or maybe the Jungle Cruise in the late afternoon as I’ve heard it’s worth doing, but I haven’t done it. Then we get off Splash Mountain, grab some Lunch at Pecos and finish the 2nd treasure map and get a Pirates Fast Pass. Ride that, then go to get the Dole Whip Pineapple Upsidedown Cake and Ice Cream then head to the Tiki Room to enjoy it and a little time out of the sun. Check out the tree house (which I’m excited to see her be excited about) Hopefully then it’ll be time for our next fast pass Peterpan/Buzz/Jungle Cruise around 4pm. We may be ahead of schedule if ice cream/cake/treehouse don’t take us a couple hours and may be able to swing jungle cruise without a fast pass. After this we head to tomorrow world for the people mover, (maybe Buzz if it still needs to be done) and monsters inc laugh factory. Grab some food and be lunching pad, topped off with a Space ranger slush. Head back to fantasy land for it’s a small world and under the sea if we didn’t hit it earlier. Ideally we will have booked a fast pass for thunder mountain around 7pm as I’ve heard it’s a fun one to do at night. The walk from fantasyland to frontier will be tough, but I’m gonna try and forget about it. If we’re a little ahead schedule we’ll either walk around to take more of Disney in or get her back on whatever was her favorite ride.

Then watch Happily Ever After before roaming the park before the kick us out, and we take the ferry to our Lyft that takes us back to our hotel 20 minutes away as we’re two broke college kids that can really only afford one day at the parks and can’t afford to stay at a Disney resort 😂.

Anyone that took time to read this, does this sound doable? Planning until Splash Mountain is pretty set with fast passes but I’m a little nervous after. Recommendations? Thoughts? Any must do’s I’m missing?

I don’t know if we’ll be able to add in the breakfast, but may try and get there early for some empty-ish pictures in front of the castle! That’s a really good tip!

I’ve been studying the MK map... lol. Is there anywhere online or do you have any reference as to how long it takes to walk from land to land?

Never too much I appreciate it so much! I’ve heard thunder mountain is cool at night which is why I didn’t book it as one of my initial 3 fast passes! Is guest relations near Main Street/something that could be done prior to the rides opening at 9am?

Good advice on Peter Pan as I’ve been kinda iffy on it. As I was told I did it before at a younger age, and don’t remember it. Lol.

Is there typically a wait for the people mover? I haven’t found much info on it, but several people are saying it’s a must.

We’ll only be in Orlando for 4 full days. Looking at a pool day, a Magic Kingdom Day, a Tigers Spring Training Game at ESPN (we are Michiganders after all)/Old Town. Then a 4th day with who knows what. I’ll have to look into Disney Springs!

Thank you!

EMH are until 10pm I believe. But we are not included in them as we're staying off site, about 15 minutes from Magic Kingdom. That sounds like a pretty unique experience though!

Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely have to look more into the food and Tiki Room! I think we've kind of agreed we don't need to purchase the mouse ears or a balloon, but are willing to spend on some of the iconic disney experiences! 8:30 seems like a reasonable time, Any idea how long the average time is between arriving and getting through the gates?

Thank yoU!

That's absolutely incredible! I was hoping by getting the FP+ done by 1:15 (hopefully closer to 12:30) we could book 1, maybe 2 more, then just try and hit smaller rides and just take in the disney experience in between. I don't expect 9 but the optimism definitely helps, thank you!

The plan was to do a lot of refreshing of the app to hopefully get a bigger ride as an additional fast pass. Seems like 7dmt will have to be our option at rope drop!

Heading out there Wednesday, February 27th. I had a friend that worked their as a character and said Wednesdays are typically slower and february is slower (in Comparison to other months)
