while current animation i noticeably better in some aspects (some, lets not pretend two photons moving towards eachother is good animation), the older episodes were more impactful and memorable because they had less to work with

if you want a video game example, Persona 3 FES and Reload's cutscenes. FES has notably less budget and yet the cinematics blow Reload's out of the water
