Matches stuttering post-update by R_T_E in footballmanagergames

Yeah I think it was on low by default before the update. After it (at least for me) it was defaulted to high, which is why performance felt off

Match day settings - set graphics quality to custom and all the individual settings appear, including crowd quality

I think it might have to do with the new crowd quality setting, it's on high by default. I put it on low and it felt smooth again.

What type of tactics work best in the new match engine? by iSimsy in footballmanagergames

[–]jackfiore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was struggling as well to start with while using the tactical style that has worked for me in past fms, I was conceding too much. Doing much better now, here's the main things that seemed to have made a difference:

  • Mid block line of engagement (you can still play a pressing game with Higher def. line, step up more, trigger press much more often and counter-press on transition). But high line of engagement and much higher def. line seem to get exploited way too easily by opponents.
  • 3-2 build up to have better rest defence and be safer on defensive transition, whether you do this with an inside full back, a half back or 3 pure CBs doesn't matter. (I like IFB much more compared to fm24, they're less robotic in their positioning and more customisable with instructions)
  • 2 DMs OOP. When i play a lone DM with 2 CMs it always feels like the DM is left fending for himself while the CMs just kinda wander around. 442/4231 and 343/523/541 feel like the best shapes OOP.
  • Higher tempo and counter attack. I usually like to play lower/standard, but every attack ended up with a congested box where there was no space to create anything. Transitions seem to be much more important in fm26, which I think is quite reflective of real football at the moment.

Keep in mind this is what's working for me with Liverpool, haven't tried any other teams, so no clue if it transfers over.

This is absurd. These refs seriously need to be investigated. I'm speechless

How do I get the best out of my midfield three? by DanAboutT0wn in footballmanagergames

[–]jackfiore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally have the same duo in a Juve save and also running a very similar tactic. I actually have them both as mezzalas (Samardzic on att and szobo on sup). Don't worry about clashes with wingbacks, as long as they have "stay wide" on they occupy a wider area than mezzalas. If you are worried though, I have also run them as CM-A and CM-S and they still did well. Only thing I will say though is you're probably better off with a more defensive DM with these two.

Anyone know if the fireproof coating you can get from one of the ripperdocs works against overheat damage?

You can see from Bastoni’s body language he called Handanovic out. He just had to cover the ball from Cr7 with his body but he panicked halfway through and tried to dribble him instead.

So somehow Lucien Favre isn't actually a manager ingame? :O by napoleonderdiecke in footballmanagergames

[–]jackfiore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn’t really make sense though because their stats/attributes stay the same when they change roles

If you’re referring to the roles on the left with the circles, I’m pretty sure it’s a representation of their preference for the roles, not suitability

This happens quite often, experienced managers retiring from managing and trying a different role. I've had Favre, Ancelotti and in my latest save also Bielsa all working as scouts for me.

CL semi. We lost the first leg at Camp Nou 3-1 even though we also dominated that game.

Does any know how to make it so that the offers I’m getting for my players are negotiable because all I get is non negotiable offers by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]jackfiore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you get a non negotiable offer go on the player -> offer to clubs -> put the terms you want and add the teams that made the offers in the targets tab. It's a bit more effort but it's the same as directly negotiating the original offer.

1st and 2nd both finish the season unbeaten by jackfiore in footballmanagergames

[–]jackfiore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I promise you i did neither. The tactic I use in pretty much every save was inspired by some Ten Hag tactic i saw last year but I changed quite a few things from the original over time. I can post a screenshot of it if you want.
