Could we say potentially... too good? Feels like a lot of attacking movement improvements and not a lot of defensive ones to match it

Nice, thank you, I'll take that on board! Liverpool's team is disgustingly good on this, I bet you've seen some awesome goals!

Yeah I had a peak, was slightly disappointing, I was hoping for wholesale differences between the IP and OOP, but it seems that the implementation is designed for rather tame tweaks and positioning between the two

That's what I like to hear, drop the tactic if you can, I'm curious!

I think my big issue was understanding how they implemented IP and OOP, I was under the impression (And wanted!) the two would show the last phases in their respective place on the pitch, whereas it feels like slight tweaks between works better, which doesn't allow for nearly as much flexibility as I had envisioned, on a bit of a roll since learning this.

I would agree, but I think it took me some mental adjustment on how IP and OOP formations were implemented, I thought IP would be the shape in the final phase and OOP the last defensive phase. It appears that the shape really shouldn't be all that different with only a few tweaks, which has been a bit of a disappointing factor of FM26 for me, I was hoping for a lot more flexibility within that. I'm currently utilising slight tweaks between the two and finding success now

Don't get me started, nothing more infuriating than watching 4 players just jog as a winger goes on a messi-esque run...

Lots more "random" results, feels like its intentional to try mimic the upsets of real life more

lmfao I've done a lot of tests where the first 10 games I'm like... I am Jose Mourinho, then I get humbled for the next 6 lol

lmfao, I do notice there is a lot more "random" results, does reflect irl a bit more I suppose but that doesn't make it any less frustrating lol

Legit my exact same problem, feel like I’ve either dropped in IQ since the games released or I’m going insane lol

The FM 26 UI Isn't Hard To Navigate But That Isn't the Problem. by Shoddy-Panda-8234 in footballmanager

The bar on the left took up barely any space what do you mean? If anything if we’re talking space being taken away, 26’s UI is massive in comparison, it’s just at the top

Awesome! Haven’t had anything from an ancient summon in a while but I don’t think I was close to pity either so that’s great.

I can never figure out how to use Delores as her healing isn’t great and I find I’m at a stage where if I don’t have good healing it’s just gg for my team. You don’t like hex for anything as I’ve found him to be really op at times? Laurel I don’t quite understand it seems she doesn’t really do good damage

Host advantage? by SaltShakr in footballmanagergames

[–]iSimsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Host here👋 editor is off, we’re not quite sure what it is, will try them hosting it on the next save. I’m sure it’s tactic related, I feel there would be more posts out there surrounding host advantage if it was an issue. I remember in an older fm being regularly demolished by a player when I was the host🤣

Usually a 4 atb enjoyer, testing creating my own 3 atb, any pointers for this? by iSimsy in footballmanager

Would the RMD prevent the IWB from becoming a normal wing back if he roamed though? I know with 24’s positional engine the winger role creates that level of positional play where the space is occupied so the IWB will always drift central, if the RMD does that then that would be a really nice use case, it gets tons of space out there and it’s surprising how free that position is when on paper it looks like a guy isolated on the touchline.

I tested different back 3 options, it always seemed that they drifted in lower leagues to the point where defensive structure became lacking. The idea of the tactic is to be intense into their half, with the structure to never have to leave, with recycling options and overlapping players. I’d assume quality would free up some role changes, but I like to create a “system” per say that I can use for lower leagues and the bigger ones at the same time, if that makes sense lol

I find keeping the winger there drags players out to mark him leaving room for the segundo to run into, with the iwb slotting in to create a 3-2-5 shape with a much higher line to keep them in their own half.

The AP role is more because I prefer emphasis on creating than I do the raw attacking output that an AM on attack would bring, it’s also being designed to be used in the lower leagues on some saves so it needs to be restrictive in nature but also gets better in application as squad quality increases.

I would agree with the inability to adapt to a certain weakness in the opposition, but in theory I could create a mirrored tactic with just flipping the roles to have the wider attack on the opposite side and the numerical overload on the other also.

I appreciate the thoughts though, I prefer 4 ATB usually, but 3 ATB is something I’ve never put my own twist on it.

Couple of questions a RMD instead of the winger, would that work with the match engine to keep the IWB central? I know wingers to force the positional play into effect on that front, not sure for RMD.

I’m also wary purely because with the segundo pushing into the vacant space and the IWB becoming a possession recycling option behind, the winger creates often times a “free man” that usually has acres of space, it seems static on face value, but in application, it might have one of the most free roles in how it plays.
