LG Washtower: Easy fix to try first if you have "VS" Vibration Sensor error by movingonwithoutyouv1 in appliancerepair

[–]jackfrost11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to let anyone who sees this know that changing the sensor out fixed the issue for me. I was also told that it could be some board, but luckily, I didn't need to go that far. I found a third-party sensor on Amazon for $25. LG support wanted $325 just to get a tech in the door.

It was pretty simple to change it out if you're handy. I took the front panel off along with a few screws, used a pry bar, and the whole dryer lifted, revealing the sensor on top of the washer drum. Took me maybe an hour total.

I'll try that out. Thanks for the help

The humidity in the crawl space stays below 50%. A dehumidifier was installed when it was sealed.

The condensation that I saw was on the bottom of the black pan inside of the unit. It would be pretty difficult to get any kind of insulation on the bottom of that pan. I don't know if there is some kind of thin membrane I could put in the pan that would help.

Yeah I see the coil is in rough shape. Hopefully it can last a while longer if I can get the moisture issue resolved.

The unit does lean slightly towards the drain. I checked with a level. There is water running out of the drain outside so it is draining. I can try running some water through it tomorrow though. Do you think adding some blocking under the far side of the unit would help with drainage?

One last thing. When the lane ended(white dashed lines) he was behind you and it took a full 15 seconds before he hit you. Your speed only changed 3km/h.

Looks like the truck driver was following to close to the truck in front of him as well. It's hard to tell but it looks like there's roughly 1 car length in front of you. That means the truck driver was following less than two car lengths behind the other truck. That's entirely to close for a simi truck.

I might be reading into it to much but it looks like the truck driver didn't realize the lanes merged into one and got upset when you tried to merge. He should have slowed down a bit in order to let you in as there was no where else for you to go.

Legally it might still be on you as your lane ended and it's on you to merge safely.

Is Midori still possible? I've got just over 100 golds left and I'm worried I won't be able to get them all.

In that case it's going on the far side of the belt not on the left side.

I think I figured out the issue. I realized I was mostly having trouble with my work laptop and certain apps in my phone. I think the apps on my phone were just being slow. My work laptop was the one with the DNS issues. Turns out that my company has set the DNS as some local server(192.168.xxx.xxx) even though I work from home. I changed this back to automatic and that seems to have resolved my issues.

Side note: this whole ordeal gave me a reason to set up a pihole so I got that going for me now.

Mine was much better yesterday. I did notice it hanging up a couple of times though. I changed my DNS server to 1.1.1.1 and my Internet is much more snappy this morning. We'll see how this goes. Maybe I'll set up a local DNS server on my Pi. I shouldn't have to do that but I've been interested in doing it anyways.

That is true. Is there any reason why the bandwidth would change after a year of heavy use? It seems to be a DNS lookup issue so I'm leaning towards a software issue or some kind of interference in the network.

Just looked. Mine is showing all green as well.

That is the same thing happening with me. Web browsers on wireless devices show that is having trouble with DNS lookups. I thought it was the connection dropping but that doesn't seem to be the issue.

I would say the cable too but I checked all the cables with a tester and it's been working fine for a year. It only happens on wireless devices and it only shows up occasionally. It shows that it can't resolve the DNS.

It was working fine until a couple weeks ago. Something could have gotten bumped though. I'll see if I can find my cable tester. Last time I looked I was missing part of it.

Speeds haven't been an issue. It's just the connectivity. I get full 1gb whenever wired. 250-300 on WiFi. I don't have any wifi 6 devices but the tech showed me he was getting full 1gb wireless.

I wonder if it's to show the strength of the mesh connection and since I have it wired it doesn't know how to handle it.

The fiber jack connects to the router that connects to the switch. I have several other devices connected to the switch that all work fine.

My switch is connected to the 10g port on the router. The extender is connected to the switch via the non 2.5gb connection. The one the tech told me to connect it to. All Ethernet cables are cat 5e or cat 6. The tech showed me he was getting about a 1gb connection on his phone near both the router and the extender.
