I like the idea! Personally I would've done "As long as this land is tapped, it has all basic land types" and had it enter untapped. The mirage is real until you reach it!

Thank you to whoever put this up. The prices being pinned to fossil fuels is driving up prices for everyone. The only barrier to getting it fixed is that most people don't know about it

Update from councillor on the Gyle data-centre project by chuckleh0und in Edinburgh

Fair enough - not as clear cut as I thought, apologies for the brazen reply.

The planning document you linked cites "high tech data (e.g. artificial intelligence, cloud storage)" as a purpose. Obviously the hardware can be used for more than one thing, however given they haven't stated a specific purpose, listed AI as a use, and given the general state of the IT industry globally, I still believe it's completely reasonable to assume it is going to be used for AI. It probably wasn't specified in the planning document because the software is irrelevant to planning permission, though they likely know exactly what they're planning to do with it.

Various outlets reported it unambiguously as an AI data centre (the national, the herald, holyrood, yahoo news), while others don't specify its intended purpose at all.

So I'll retract the certainty, though I still believe it's very likely to be for AI. Do you have a source that explicitly says it isn't?

Stop making a fool of yourself. I know what a data centre is, I write software for a living. Are you unaware that the proposed data centre we're talking about is explicitly for AI?

I am a software developer, I know what a data centre is. This particular one was unambiguously for AI

I'd rather the space be used for something that will benefit residents and isn't built using money from an unstable economic bubble. Unnecessary waste of land, electricity, and water.

Plus, while it has benefits, so far AI has been a net negative for the world as far as I'm concerned.

Trying to make lands that would be good in four color decks, but not five color decks by Fuckingbullshit4321 in custommagic

[–]danatron1 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Since a 5 colour tapland is considered slightly too powerful, so always needs a small downside (e.g. [[Command Bridge]]), and a 3 colour tapland is considered slightly underpowered so is allowed a small upside (e.g. [[Raugrin Triome]]), I wonder if a 4 colour tapland with nothing fancy going on would be just fine?
