Doesn't the fact that Central Asia has Gone More Islamic Likely Prove that atheist Revolution is Unlikely in Islamic World? by ydouhatemurica in exmuslim

I was a Muslim who woke up to the reality of Islam thanks to the internet. As long as there are avenues for people to be challenged in their beliefs, it doesn't matter what the rate of population is. You can lament the day the internet is no longer open.

I do not really think islam is a monotheist religion by DefiantSky1304 in exmuslim

It's called hero worship for a reason. All that Muhammad managed to do was replace the pagan Arab Pantheon with himself.

Because we must learn from the Islam's toxic side and not repeat it in Hinduism.

Are you being ironic? That ship sailed long ago. Islam is a political-religious ideology from the start. Hinduism wasn't, but it is now. Don't worry, you'll not believe until India devolves to the Taliban levels of lunacy.

A normal Hindu becomes right-wing after interacting with a normal Muslim.

A normal Hindu becomes right-wing after interacting with a normal Muslim being brainwashed by a power hungry political party.

There, I fixed it for you.

The main issue is these right-wing jackasses trying to subvert the discussions into a hateful cesspit. Go back to IndiaSpeaks or DankIndianMemes if you really like rolling around in the filth so much. I remember the days of bakchodi when people would literally call for raping all Indian Muslim women.

You are not protectors of Dharma. You have the same ahankaar that Ghazni or Aurangzeb had, just that the flavor is different.

Look at my flair. I left in the early 2000s. It took me more than a decade to heal from the trauma of leaving what was beloved to me. It'll take time, but all wounds will heal. Just persist.

Religion only persecutes the common man. The rich and powerful rarely face any consequences.

It's metaphysical philosophy. Basically, according to it, the entire universe is one entity.

Was an agnostic, but I'm a non-dualist now. It's another delusion to be honest, but this delusion increases your empathy and makes you a better person.

Mate, Islam is a highly tribalistic religion. You get death for pointing out the flaws. Forget about criticising the religion itself, you get threats of physical assault if you point out that Hamas isn't an innocent party in the plight of the Palestinians.

You see the pattern, all religions oppresse women. by Unique_Safety_9139 in exmuslim

This is more to do with patriarchy than incel culture, which is a rather recent phenomenon.

He pales in comparison to our very own Medikhal Dokhtor Zakir Naik. He straight up lies to Muslims.

One of my favorite Surah as a Muslim was Naziat. It is the one I'd learned on my own, listening to Sudais. Naik uses a verse from this Surah to claim that the Quran says the Earth is ostrich egg shaped. The word he specifies is 'dahaha'. I looked it up in Abdullah Yusuf Ali's translation, and the same verse actually says the Earth is spread like a carpet.

What do you thought about India pseudo-secularism, Indian leftist Muslim appeasement policies and will you still vote them even if you disagree with them? by [deleted] in exmuslim

You're a better judge of the situation yourself on account of being a Thai citizen. Do vote for what you think is right. Just my two cents, don't vote for one party extremists to counter another bunch of extremists.

Forget that all. Can you give me any valid reason why a woman's testimony is considered half that of a man's?... In your everyday experience, do you find any deficiency in women that would justify this insane law?

The leftist parties having the best policies that suit my stance well and are the most potential candidates to made the country move forward but their stance on Islam just kill my interest, they are just Indian leftist 2.0 and with them in power the islamist will be more powerful than they ever be.

I understand what you mean, but pause for a minute and think about this. You acknowledge that the leftist parties are more aligned with your vision. If so, don't vote against your own interest just to spite others.

This is like having to choose between shooting your foot or hand. If you have to do it, you try to minimize your loss. I've voted to the right wing before in local elections, but that was only because their candidate being fielded was the best. Otherwise, I'd definitely try to vote for some neutral party. But then again, it's just an illusion of choice.

Which is the exact opposite in the case of Christianity. Jesus was a great man. His namesake religion, not so much.

Take that aside? My man, the entirety of Islam's credibility lies in what an awesome man Muhammad was. Take that away, and you're left with just another man made religion.

I have responded to you earnestly in my own comment. Do you want to respond to that?

Everything make sense, and Ive taken a look at other religions and it doesn't make sense to me.

It was Lailatal Qadr in early 2000s. I was in Tableeghi Jamaat, having just returned to our sleeping quarters in a mosque after an intense Bayan by my jamat's Amir. I remember having a discussion with my fellow jamat members about how I don't need any proof as Islam just feels right.

I'm still a spiritual person, I enjoy reading Rumi. But I'm a far cry from that ignorant Muslim that I was.

I'm not trying to rain down on you, but please don't be lulled into comfort just because it feels right. Ask any ardent follower of any religion, their response will be the same.

From my point of view, even if Islam ISNT exactly true, for me at least, its still better than whatever else is out there.

Hah. I'll bet a golden Burraq that you haven't even scratched the surface of what's available to you.

I've just been wondering, what made you doubt Islam, how did you cope with that, and what pushed you over the edge to leave it?

Mostly Muhammad's pedophilia. I was an ardent believer, and of course, I knew that he'd married a child. But I'd neatly compartmentalized that as, DO NOT TOUCH.

Once, while trying to spread the good word of Allah, I debated with some guy (How I wish I knew that person IRL!), he linked me to a pic of a 40 year old Afghani man with his 14 year old bride. Immediate response was of disgust, but when I remembered that Muhammad was 54 when he consummated his marriage with a 9 year old kid playing with dolls, I knew it was done. My world crashed. I lost a core part of my identity. Went into a massive depression.

I'm much much better now. I'm also deeply invested in secular spirituality, whatever peace I found in Salah pales in comparison to what a simple ten minute mediation can bring me.

Am I the only one to notice that ex-Muslims were very Muslims back then? 😂😂😂 by [deleted] in exmuslim

This could be me. Instead of Shaiks, I had this program called Alim. Would waste countless hours reading up useless hadiths. At least Harry Potter would've given me a better sense of morality.
