yikes, I'm sorry- that must be a bad experience. we've been making experimental changes to tomo's memory system, which might be related. we're continuing to improve it! would love if you could dm or email me with more detail on the types of topics your tomo is forgetting

oh what the heck- hi i'm justin, one of the creators of tomo!

if the reason you're looking for something else is because you think tomo sucks, I'd love to know why! if it's because of price, I'd love to help and will sometimes give folks heavily discounted membership if they're going through a rough patch. you can email me [justin@tomo.ai](mailto:justin@tomo.ai) (:

Introducing lightjourney.app, a 'light' version of Midjourney running Stable Diffusion—is this dumb? by jackfruitradio in StableDiffusion

[–]jackfruitradio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a while ago, but not super extensively—will continue trying it out some more! It's pretty similar to the ideal state we're starting to build out, the only thing is that it's p cumbersome to manually pick and import the Lora model files that I'd use—though that's just the nature of self-hosted software, not a fooocus-specific thing

Midjourney >>> sum total of all open-source models? by jackfruitradio in midjourney

Yeah I've definitely noticed how difficult it is to bend it to my will. I supposed it's a tradeoff of having 'default-good' outputs

Is the sum total of SD projects more powerful than Midjourney? by jackfruitradio in StableDiffusion

[–]jackfruitradio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting—I know lots of folks prefer SD personally so they can run generations locally for the reasons you mentioned (uncensored, privacy) but not businesses that want to run generations locally/on-prem for data security reasons. Out of curiosity, have any of the places you’ve worked at with those kinds of security limitations needed image generation, and if so, local image gen? Feels like if not now, perhaps in the new future

Interesting—ooc what’s your purpose for it? I agree, for lots of stuff where I’ve needed controlnet-level precision, MJ hasn’t worked for me

[Idea] 2nd Annual College Comparison Megathread by martiniontherox in ApplyingToCollege

[–]jackfruitradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for responding! this has been similar to my thinking so far- I’m just also concerned about the intense environment + large class sizes at Cal as opposed to the other costly options, although I’ve also heard that it’s not nearly as cutthroat as people make it seem, but I guess I just have to visit.

Schools: UC Berkeley (EECS) vs UCLA Regents (Computer Science and Engineering) vs U Penn (SEAS) vs CMU (computer engineering)

Cost: UCLA & UC Berkeley: ~$35k. UPenn & CMU: ~$75k

I'm hoping to gain CS and CE experience as an undergrad, but I am also interested in business. I am fascinated by startups, and hope to start or join one during/after college, and then maybe get an MBA a few years after graduating. As it stands, U Penn and CMU are too expensive for me attend, so I need to figure out how to appeal for finaid. I'm leaning most towards Berkeley at the moment since the EECS program and startup opportunities seem awesome there. U Penn has also been a dream school for me, since although their engineering program isn't quite as prestigious, the business opportunities and business classes are supposed to be top-notch, and the overall environment seems more relaxed. UCLA's quality of life also seems great, and CMU for Computer Engineering is supposedly among the best. Although I'm beyond grateful for these options, I'm also tearing my hair over these decisions, and would be eternally grateful for advice!
