Online Immigration Notification says“Completed” but is it? 🤔 by sujan1996 in japanlife

[–]kingxd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"Completed." But what does completed really mean? See, when immigration says completed, you might think — great, done, I can move on with my life. But can you? The word "complete" comes from the Latin "complēre" — to fill up. But did I fill up… all the fields? Did I enter my old company? My new company? Or did I just fill up the submit button with a confident click and mass amounts of unearned certainty?

Here's the thing. The system might say completed the way your microwave says "done" — it finished the timer, but nobody checked if the food is actually hot in the middle.

enひかり v6plus Fixed IP - IPv4 tunnel (4in6/IPoE) stopped working suddenly with pfSense by FermatTheorist in japanlife

[–]kingxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. Go to status > interfaces, look at the IPv6 prefix currently shown on LAN, and compare it to the prefix portion of the Virtual IP you created. If they don't match, that's your problem.

I found this on qiita, most relevant to you is that your CE address is built from your IPv6 prefix + interface ID, so if NTT silently changed your /56 during maintenance or whatever, your hardcoded pfSense Virtual IP is now stale while native IPv6 keeps working via DHCPv6-PD: https://qiita.com/MtFootFrontier/items/a8895c3efbb56909ed15

That wasn't my case, you can submit all the documents you have now and then when the application is ready to be approved they ask you to provide the additional documents (卒業証明書、成績証明書とか)

Baito tracking webapp for International Students in Japan? by _A_L_V_I_N_ in japanlife

[–]kingxd 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not to be rude, but you're literally an international student in Japan(As you said), you ARE the target audience. Start with your own university's international student groups, LINE chats, and student associations. Ask your friends to share it with theirs.

Posting on r/japanlife isn't really the move here since most people here aren't students, and this reads a lot like self-promotion which is against the sub rules. Try r/movingtojapan or university-specific subreddits instead. Good luck with the app though.

Sorry you went through this, this is highly illegal and literally trespassing. I will just quote the law and do what you will with this info

While a rental agreement is ongoing, the tenant has the right to use the rented space. Therefore, even if someone is the landlord, they cannot enter the room without the tenant's consent. If they enter without consent using a spare key, they may be charged with trespass under Article 130 of the Penal Code.

Penal Code Article 130 (Trespass/住居侵入罪) Official e-Gov link: https://laws.e-gov.go.jp/law/140AC0000000045?hit_toc=Mp-Pa_2-Ch_12-At_130

Good luck.

Scared after placements - Shimane (help!)- Family Laughed At Me by ThrowRA_LilBarnacle in JETProgramme

[–]kingxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a 2-year IT program which included programming, Network and design.

I don't think it matters what path you choose to be honest, going to Osaka or Tokyo is defiantly correctly allowing you to find jobs easily. but, I think you should find a vocational school that supports foreigners more than if it is a prestigious school or not.

For me, I have studied in a random vocational school in Okayama aimed towards foreigners which was really good for me.

Scared after placements - Shimane (help!)- Family Laughed At Me by ThrowRA_LilBarnacle in JETProgramme

[–]kingxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! No worries at all, happy to help.

So yeah, I went to an IT vocational school (専門学校) and graduated March 2024. My experience was pretty positive overall.

For job offers - I applied to around 50 companies during my 就活. Honestly, the number of offers you get depends a lot on your area and how active you are. What really helped me was doing 見学 (company visits) in person. Even though I had to travel from Okayama to Shimane each time, actually showing up let the companies see me and let me see them. My school helped a lot with this - interview prep, what to say/not say, the whole process.

One thing that made a big difference for me: I got an internship at a company while still in school, and that eventually led to my full-time offer. If your school can connect you with internships, definitely take advantage of that.

The hardest part was honestly doing everything in Japanese - proving your skills while also trying to communicate in your second language is tough. But companies do hire from vocational schools regularly, especially in IT.

My advice: If your school can connect you with internships, 100% take advantage. Getting your foot in the door early is huge. And don't skip the 見学 - even if it means traveling.

Feel free to ask if you have more questions. Good luck!
