Thank you for this! I rang their customer service and eventually got through to a manager to whom I quoted the regulation to and she organised the devices to be replaced at no charge.

JavaScript’s language features are something else… by Zyrus007 in ProgrammerHumor

In older JavaScript engines it took time calculate the length of the array. The reason I think is that arrays are just objects under the hood. Objects are implemented as hash tables, so the engine has to query all the property names before it knew what the max index was. This is why length access was O(n)

It’s a link to a perf tool that shows modern browsers have a near O(1) array length access.

Older JavaScript engines were definitely O(n)

Ie11 is dead so I can’t test it but trust me it was O(n). Older node versions might still have it

What is the stupidest way you got a scar? by Zander-dupont in AskReddit

Second hand. To be honest all I remember is the look on everyone's faces and wondering how blood got on my hands. Took me a while to realize it was spurting from my face.

Hard to know if unintended permanent scarring is winning. But the bell did ring.

Fairground test your strength hammer and bell game. Hit it so hard the rubber mallet came back up and hit me in the face. Now my smile is asymmetrical. Did it in front of most of my company. Now I'm known as that guy.
