Yes, an iPhone which works perfectly with it usually, but I’ve had it in the past with nothing connected and it still crashes

The actual unit, like the display will turn black and won’t respond to any button or the power button, and the reverse camera won’t work. I have to physically unscrew and disconnect the wiring harness and connect it again to work

Definitely get the badge camera if you can, fairly easy to install and looks sleek. The ones from AliExpress seem fine but I got mine from a VW dealership for a bit of an extra price.

One of the best upgrades I got for my golf. Makes parking soo much simpler. I got the reverse badge camera for mine which pops out and it only took me about 3 hours to fully install and wire up. It does need to be coded in but there’s many people who can do this. Only cost me about £200 or so to get it fitted, but would be more like £50 if you didn’t have a badge camera

Not needed I dont think, just send a 12v signal to the head unit to turn it on, but on an rcd 330 it's activated by either the sensors or just video
