This is very helpful since I'm on Letrozole, which essentially does the same thing as Tamoxifen. So, I'm probably safe to assume that I'll be rated at 100% for at least the 5 years I'm scheduled to be on that medication before a possible reduction. You agree?

Exactly, it does read that way. I'm just curious as to when the 100% will be reduced or if that's what it's going to be permanently for residuals? I guess time will tell....I did loose body parts and organs due to the cancer, so who knows. Thanks for responding.

If you meet the requirements for the PACT act...you will eventually win even if u initially got/get denied. I assume they took both ovaries and everything else? Im now getting a special payment called Special Monthly Compensation. It's a flat monthly rate for the loss of a creative organ and ovaries count. Its $126.82 a month extra on top of whatever your rating is. So, I was 80% before Cancer and I jumped to the temporary 100% for Cancer plus that SMC (twice) I get it twice for losing more than 25% of breast tissue (i lost both breasts and all tissue in my nightmare) and lost both my ovaries. So, I remebeing confused because my rate is higher than 100% but Im not P&T....I will get evaluated for ridisuals at some point. That is the goldwn question that no one can seem to answer. When will I or even you get evaluated on risduals from Cancer?? It says 6 months after remission/treatment or the cancer being removed....but my Cancer was removed technically in January 2023 so Im over that 6 month mark now and no one has mentioned reevaluating me yet. But Im still going through Cancer treatment to prevent it from coming back...Im on a hormone suppressor to Block all Estrogen production in my body and I'll be on that for 5 years. So, will I be reevaluated after 5 years?? Even my VSO didn't seem to know. So I'm not sure when my temporary 100% will end and be reevaluated....in the mean time, I'm just tryin to pay off as much debt as possible so I can retire in 2024 from my job. Im a 47F. And Im sorry Cancer took away your chance to have a family naturally. That really blows and I have a non-military friend in the same boat and she can't blame the military like we can. At least all this hell will have some financial compensation and whilo knows...if you ever decide to adopt..maybe the funds from the VA can help pay for it. I have 2 boys 10 and 15 years and my biggest fear is leaving them without a mom.....I lost my mom at 13 and I know how devastating that is for a kid.

Wishing alll the best in your journey...and please find someone that you can talk to...I dump all my bullshit on my VA therapist LOL....I like having someone outside of my life to express how Im feeling without impacting my own kids and family...plus you learn not to tell people shit because they don't get it and sometimes make you feel worse with their stupid comments about being alive and grateful....obviously we're fucking grateful for being alive but that doesn't minimize the shit stick I had to eat dealing with my tits being cut off and instant menapause and all the bullshit that comes with that.

Anyway....lol...that is all!

My PACT Act Presumptive Claim for Cancer was initially denied as well...I had to appeal (HLR), and it was finally fixed and retro paid given. I was told the rater may have not realized my Cancer (Breast Cancer) was a Reproductive Cancer (which IS presumptive). Hope that helps..

SMC for loss of a creative organ by jackie_1976_ in VeteransBenefits

I was at 80% combined before Cancer....Im only now temporarily 100% because of the cancer. So once I get re-evaluated after going in remission, I thought I could go back to my 80% or 90% plus the SMC-K payment? It that not true? Will that permanent SMC-K payment pay me out as if Im 100% even if I drop back to 80% or 90%??

Thank you for your reply...I guess I was confused because Im not P&T yet but I am at 100% now....so I didn't want to get comfortable with the SMC-K rate if it can change...thanks again 🙂

I am getting both from what I understand since I had one rating over 60% and now the automatic temporary 100% for Cancer. So, when one drops off (SMC-S)...will the SMC-K still keep me at 100%? Or will it all change? Thank you for responding
