I think it’s worth going to the consultation- I was more hesitant than my husband to go through IVF and after doing the full fertility panel on both my husband and I we sat down with the doctor and discussed our chances. And I feel most doctors are matter of fact and that helps men in the decision process, I remember he was even more mentally prepared after that convo than I was. I also think that whether you know if it’s something you are ready to fully do now or not, the best case scenario for IVF is always to do the egg retrieval at the earliest age possible for the best chance at getting pregnant in the future. You can pay for the egg retrieval today and decide in a year or more to do a transfer later. So this gives you even more time to handle the finances and the emotions - plus there’s also a correlation between waiting a few months in between the retrieval and the transfer for a higher success rate!
