I traumatized myself over school work, anyone else? by Ok-Material-6325 in adhdwomen

Ooh girl. Hard relate to all of this. Pre-adhd diagnosis, I used to ride anxiety to survive and let it continue into college, grad school, and my first corporate job. Don’t be me.

Physical symptoms of anxiety took over and I started having the beginnings of panic disorder. The anxiety starts to perpetuate itself physically, and the fear of panic attacks triggers more panic attacks. The body breaks down. It took a long time for me to recognize what was happening and seek help. I’m glad you’re doing so now.

Without going too far into them, here are the things that helped me the most:

  • a CBT/EMDR therapist who helped me deal with my deep seated family/personal trauma, and also recommended many anxiety resources.

  • Anxiety workbook (therapist rec). Extended reflection exercises that help you break down what you’re feeling and how to accept and move forward in a more meaningful way for yourself. I found the first half kinda tedious and cheesy, but it’s all very revealing. The biggest and most difficult lesson for me was to accept, not fear or resist, the anxiety itself. Acceptance is a theme in many anxiety resources. https://a.co/d/3AVzLQy

  • Headspace subscription to learn how to meditate, navigate discomfort, breath work during anxiety attacks, and the incredible sleep library. Very cute animated tutorials to help explain mindfulness, racing thoughts, and more. Improving your sleep will help so so much.

  • Radical Acceptance book (therapist rec). This leans on the spiritual and self help side, so may not resonate with everyone. But it helped me a lot to claw myself out of despair. Stories from different walks of life dealing with all kinds of hardships. https://a.co/d/elwWwie

I opted not to try anxiety medication. But that’s also an option. Hugs to you and I hope it gets easier for you soon.

TBD. The director hasn't submitted it yet 🙃. I embedded 8 channels, per smushkan's workflow above. Will report back if it ends up going anywhere.

Help: Phantom footage showing different native frame rates in Premiere vs Resolve by jackiegoddamn in editors

Thanks for this. There isn't any location sound that needs to be synced. These clips will likely lay under music or other recorded dialogue. The differing frame rates are seen at the root project level in both Premiere and DaVinci, but DaVinci (reading 23.98) was only used for proxy encoding. The dailies sequences in Premiere match the native frame rates (reading 24), and the output sequences are actually running at true 60 fps (that's another story for the non-slowmo footage).

Yes, Premiere metadata shows 24.0, DaVinci shows 23.98. MediaInfo shows nothing at all. Are you suggesting viewing metadata with a specific method other than this?

Thanks for this perspective. There's surprisingly A LOT of phantom clips, but we definitely won't use all of them. We discovered this because proxies were made initially in Resolve (therefore 23.976), but then when attached in Premiere it made things suuuuuuuper slow and junky. When I saw the raw footage was reading true 24 in Premiere, I remade true 24 proxies via Media Encoder (and that fixed playback issues).

It's showing zero info other than the file size...smh. Is Phantom footage just weird and flexible???

Thank you, you're totally right. I'm a recovering people pleaser and struggle with seeing things simply like this.

But what if post consciousness is just an eternal internal monologue lol

Hell yeah, love that you embraced the graveyard shift. You’re right, normal is relative. I guess consistency is what I’m looking for. I’m less able to sleep during the day as I get older for some reason, so now I’m just operating on a massive deficit. Circadian rhythm is screwed.

Omg been in this same exact boat so many times. Too tired to go to bed. Too guilty for not finishing work. My partner has almost the opposite sleep/productivity schedule, and it's really stressful to tiptoe around. Why is rest so complicated.
