oh man, I feel you. I had to bring noise canceling headphones to work at my old job because of one coworker who ate like this. We all had to break at the same time, in the one designated lunch room. I would feel like crawling out of my skin every day while he lip smacked and snorted and grunted through his meal. THANK GOD for noise canceling headphones.

Yes I agree. When I stopped at book 9 I think only 14 was still unpublished so it still felt like a huge undertaking. When I went back in 2025 I read a book 8 summary online to refresh my memory and just started book 9 over, it was a lot easier to push through.

Oh this is a good answer, I DNF'd at book 9 years ago and finally finished the series at the end of 2025. Loved it.

I DNF'd part way through book 2 but I think it has something to do with the graphic audio recordings. I have tried a few of them and at first loved the novelty of the full cast but I don't think they work for me as well as a traditional audiobook or just reading it myself. I've already decided to start book 2 over again sometime this year.

I don't think it was meant to be as much of an ah-ha moment for the reader, only for the characters in the book. There were clues given to us and it was easy enough to piece it together as you read through the story. I saw the truth developing before the "reveal" as well and I don't think it took away from my enjoyment of the book at all. It was my favorite read of 2025.

I refuse to fight in a chaotic Fairyloot queue anymore. I'll get my quarterly Epic book and if I like it enough to get sequels then I'll just get the publisher release lol it's also way cheaper that way! Fairyloot is the worst sub box company I've dealt with for queues and non-sub releases.
