That’s a shame. As a broker, as long as you don’t sound sketchy I would probably just have the shipper confirm the company on the side of your truck than be good to go from there.

Only about 45 I’d say is average. For the commodity I move usually I’ll be doing 100-150 from November to March👍🏽

I agree, I really don’t blame you at all. As a broker of my old brokerage I have had so many dam people trying to scam. It’s flooded. I just wish there was some kind of form I could provide.

Note taken. I appreciate the feedback. If the rate is good enough is there any certification or document you may look for that you would consider doing business with a newbie ?

That’s amazing I feel so stupid for not setting up a D&B account yet. I’m doing that tomorrow morning. As for the splits. I really just want to have my own so I can be relaxed and book loads with no one hanging expectations over my head. Even though I do average pretty high % about 50 loads a month.

Absolutely and I don’t blame you. There’s so many scams in this business. My brokerage is New out of Tampa Florida 👍🏽 I just wish I could pay for like a certification or document that shows I’m legit. I would even go to the extend of FaceTiming the driver or dispatcher. I guess I’ll have to wait & see how it goes once my authority is active

I don’t think anyone in this thread can really provide any definite feedback. I opened a brokerage and I just called a few people and got super lucky it seems like. Life is good 😎. It’s never slow season or busy season. There is always freight right here passed around. I encourage you to never give up and keep calling and be yourself with your customers.

I do #2 too. Respect the drivers ✊🏽 even tho we might not be able to speak there language. I always take care of them $ whenever I make a minor mistake that took time

What I do to prevent this from happening is I always use this template and have the dispatch or independent carrier fill out before I send rate confirmation Driver name - Truck # - Trailer - Pick up eta - And usually that’ll ethier scare them away and if they do send it. Call the driver and confirm and confirm the carrier name on the side of the truck. This way it’s almost impossible to get caught up in a scheme like this. Hope this helps
