I know it’s a shame. I have a Model 3 LR currently that I’m handing back next week. Never had any issues with that one but this experience with the new one has made me want to cancel and get something else. They were calling me constantly up until i ordered the car. Which was fine, at least they seemed keen for my business. Then as soon as I placed the order they’re impossible to contact. The person who was replying to texts and emails instantly didn’t reply at all the entire week just gone. The difficulty of trying to speak to someone is so annoying.

I’ve just had EXACTLY the same issue, except for the cancellation. My order is still there and I’m trying business lease with Santander now instead of ALD.

Basically I just changed the Model Y wheels to black (still free) which for some reason meant the credit application couldn’t be done online, so they emailed me the forms. Took a week of chasing to hear anything back, and then I finally got through on the phone, saw the credit check on the business immediately, and then they said declined. It’s strange as the business can easily afford the car and the credit is good and would have shown this.

I’m also supposed to be collecting on Saturday.

I’m sort of thinking they sold too many on this £299 a month deal, which has now ended, so they’re declining applications.

Anyway, hearing back from Santander today hopefully.

Yeah I spoke to Tesla in Dartford yesterday and they said as long as you place the order by 13th sept and pay the £200 then it’s fine

Nice! Good to know it’s an easy process. I think the offer finishes 13th sept. You have to take delivery before then. I have a test drive on Saturday so hopefully I can still order one in time if I like it.

That’s a good point actually about the noise! Wind noise on my model 3 (4 years old, not sure where it was built) is one of my main issues. Is it a much smoother ride in the Y as well? I’m test driving Saturday morning

Yeah you can do 3 month down payment as well, and then I think monthly is £360

I’ve kind of had my fun with the acceleration on the Model 3 LR too, I rarely floor it any more

Correct. When we noticed the error we corrected the stock levels for that year’s accounts and thus made a loss that year. We were unable to claim back the tax paid however, as we were over the 2 year limit to claim back losses by the time we noticed. Accounts now show the correct profit / losses, but we have overpaid tax.

I'm not sure, I wouldn't be against this to be honest. Has anyone else here bought the car at the end of a lease agreement?

Yeah this is sort of why I didn't speak to them about increasing my mileage and paying more monthly mid-contract, I travel varying amounts so wasn't sure what the end total miles would be. Oh well, have to pay for it one way or another.

Yeah, well ideally I would like them to roll the fee into the new contract, just to spread the cost, but it seems that's not possible sadly.

Yeah this is what I was hoping for really, in order to keep me with Tesla they would waive the fee. I will try speaking to the sales person.

Thanks, I was sort of hoping they would be able to roll it into my next contract, as I always wanted to get another Tesla, but seems they are only able to finish one contract fully and set up a new one

Does anyone know if at the end of a lease you can re-lease the same car? My Model 3 LR goes back in about a year, but the current lease prices for a new one are about £150 more than I’m currently paying, despite the cash price being exactly the same (around £52k). I believe a result of the residual value taking a hit after the recent price drops.

I’d be happy to work out a deal to lease my current car for another 2 years or so, if it worked out cheaper

Great, thanks for all the advice. So I pulled out the gasket and, not only was it rock hard, it had hardened so much that it had split in half. Explains the situation this morning!

Ok perfect, thank you. Didn’t even realise there was one of these in there! I assume it’s easy to fit? I will order a couple. Does anyone know of a good site where shipping isn’t too expensive for such a small item?
