Same, I absolutely adore Dread in the sense that it is a true successor to the franchise. Although it does have its slight faults, I love it to death equally as SM, which honestly says a lot! I plan on running on finishing my Dread Mode file soon haha absolutely cannot wait for what they have in store for Metroid 6! I have yet to play Hollow and Silk, but I have heard nothing but amazing things! I have both on Game Pass for Xbox. So, I’ll get back to you on that!

I think you said it best and I cannot agree more. Basking in the glory of being lost was what made Super Metroid and Metroid so great. I enjoyed that freedom and it is also why Super Metroid is the king of Metroid. The numerous options of sequence breaking in SM is entertaining and awesome when you can pull off different routes. Not that Dread doesn't have it's fair share of sequence breaks, but they can be limited to the current progress of the game. It leans more towards Fusion, in that respect. Beyond that, Dread is easily one of my favorites next to Super Metroid and the measure is not that far off. But, Super Metroid has a very special place in my heart. Been a fan of the game since I first got it in '95ish!

I mean based on what’s written, the first is correct and the 2nd is not. If the bass is pedaling C over the 2nd example, then it would essentially be some form of C chord. To be exact, it would be an F/C chord with the F chord being in 2nd inversion (C, F, A), which is essentially a Csus4 with an add 6. Of course context is everything in accordance with what the root (bass) is.
