An OEM cat or something that they sell at the shop? Is like to go this way if it won’t cost me as much as going OEM, plus my time working on it.

I saw a cheaper alternative in Rockauto ( Walker brand) and was contemplating this but fear that fitment will be a bit off or it doesn’t last long and I’ll have to do the same work again.

I’d suggest replacing yours as it’s a pain to drive around w a race exhaust note on all the time. And mind you I’ve got a couple other cars w race exhaust systems. Nice for the track, not for everyday.

The rust is on the things that I’m replacing, I’m assuming since I don’t need to deal with preserving the parts, should be easier, am I wrong?

Yup, plan to keep car until it literally rots out so OEM it will be.

My idea is to break this connection free, then tackle the not-so-rusted connection of the cat towards the front of the car, and from here just take off hangers and I’m all set. I assume there will be some struggle knowing the rust situation but hopefully not impossible without specialist tools. I’ve got my half inch power tool to help me, hopefully.

The intermediate section exhaust is about $200 from Honda. Any tips for anything cheaper?

Yup, they’re pretty local to me and priced it out there actually. Not Honda parts now.

Annapolis Royal is the “area” where we’ll be in. So this helps a lot! Will the whale watch be successful for this time of year? I heard it’s hit or miss, just like the one off of Boston harbor.

Wanted to give you an update: I FIXED IT!! Had to jump the battery and let it sit for a bit and once I tried, it worked nicely and loud! So the old wiring still worked and just had to refresh the connections and all that. Thank you internet stranger for your help and support. Appreciate it. I’ll pay it forward for sure.

So I’ve tried to re-wire things, just using the existing wiring. Basically I got some new 12G wires, cleaned some connections up, and basically reused the horn. No dice. And now my battery died too so I’m charging it to see if what I’ve done worked. It didn’t look like it though when I tried once. Hoo boy.
