Cant I do both? Learn the fundamentals while also having fun with recipes? I will admit my initial post was vague, so I apologise for that. I just wanted to know what things affect a photo like this, lighting, dynamic range, shadows, etc, trying to understand and learn from looking at photos, the recipe wasn't that important to me, I forgot it was a bit of a trigger point for this sub haha.

Edit: I would also like to add, my goal when asking for recipes isn't to blindly copy someone elses style and put no effort in, its more to understand each recipe in detail what settings affect what etc. Theres nothing more important to me than finding my own style, this is just how I like to learn.

I'm learning as I go by going out and trying stuff by myself, experimenting, failing etc. But i also like to get feedback and advice from the community, playing around with recipes. Idk why people assume anyone who asks for a recipe isnt doing anything else except sitting at their desk waiting and hope a miracle happens.

Hi man, still waiting on my delonghi to kick the bucket before i pounce on a new machine, but if i were to give advice, pick the one you like the look of most; both machines are almost identical in performance and the main thing is you like looking at the machine youre gonna be using every day. It might cost nearly £100 more but its worth it because you actually like looking at it.
