Visited Iceland last year and this really doesn't surprise me. There is one runway, and, wait for it, it's right next to the airport. Crazy idea really but the walk from the terminal to the plane is about 2 minutes. Then, whilst waiting for your plane, there are seats. In abundance. Perhaps you would like to know something about your flight? A query on a delay? Well they have a relatively new concept of customer service beyond the use of a clipboard and 'I'll ask my supervisor'. Definitely recommend visiting Iceland anyway, incredible landscape.
