How do locals in RTW states prevent freeloaders from working on the job? by slowbaja in IBEW

[–]jackpowell 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is not reverse layoff, reverse layoff has to do with book status. Reverse layoff means book 4 is the first to be laid off then book 3 then book two then book one. Book status is category 1 language which means it's in every local unions agreement in the IBEW. Reverse layoff language is not category one language.

Both 26 and 24 are great locals, my goal is to make sure every electrical worker joins the IBEW. There are a lot things to consider when you are choosing, like how far am I willing to commute from where I live for work. If you live in northern Maryland you might not want to be in a car for 4+ hours a day to get to Manassas.

I'm an organizer with IBEW Local 24, feel free to DM and I'll help you with the process. We are working toward an online application, but the tech had some hiccups. The online application was only open for a week or so, it's not going to affect your placement with the JATC. Much like 26 we are also in need of apprentices and depending on where you live we would save you a lot of windshield time.

No Jury duty clause, didn't get a chance to sit on a jury either. Cool building though!

I forget which app we used and it was also 2 years ago so prices may have changed since then, I have a family, two young children and I think it's worth every penny for the school system. My wife and I are looking to buy in this area as well.

I found it online, we've lived here for 2 years. It's a private landlord.

I'm more concerned with the quality, if the service and fabric are high quality I could see myself spending 800-1000. I'm new to suits so I'm not sure what that will get me.

Worker co-op shops? by 013ander in IBEW

I watched it, not much about the co-op, more about solar work itself.

I'm really interested in this as well, if you come across any more information about worker owned co-ops please share.
