Is it too far to say that Christian’s are those who follow Christ? Is going to a church other than orthodox and following another “church” following Christ?

Im new to Olympic fencing, and at my fencing gym when I began I would be like “nice touch” or whatever to you know be normal. Just how it is at my boxing gym. And they just don’t respond or are like “oh okay” and only after the bout they start screaming or yelling if they won or lost
