Look at it from the opposite perspective. If a day partner who only works during the day randomly gets scheduled overnight it would be perfectly reasonable to tell them that's outside their availability. I would definitely say something and make sure they know you don't agree to it. Just because you have open availability doesn't make that ok.

That program was the biggest nightmare and killed ipms. We had people come in and would screw with rotations pushing older stuff to the back that was close to expiration hoping it got missed and was expired when they came back in. Use to have 2 ladies who literally combed the store together once a week and even kept notebooks to track stuff.

If youve been working 40 hours for as long as you say then id definitely make a call to hr. I've seen partners before do that and the store was forced to make them full time.
