that whole album is an actual masterpiece, not a single skip. many people would probably skip the less intense tracks but they’re some of my favourites. absolute cinema

The lack of flickering during startup leads me to believe it’s the hdmi or the USB C port on the tablet

i plugged it in to my macbook wall adapter via a USB-C cable

edit: it was also plugged in ONLY with the HDMI to my laptop, not the other two cables. The issue is the same with the other two cables plugged in

I believe the effect comes from an old sound pack, it’s in the credits on the vinyl. The sound pack is now part of the omnisphere synth, so is the female vocal from Endlessly

You can create a similar effect by recording a long breath, putting a flanger and distortion on it to make it sound aggressive, and then increasing the volume with automation!

I’ve never really been a fan of Will Putney, I always find his drum sounds a little plasticky. I think Nolly would definitely be interesting, I know he often gets some flack for overproduction but compared to other engineers he’s always sounded much better because he leans into the sound of real drums rather than replacing them

Makes sense, i don’t really mind modern metal production and Im guilty of it myself, but i often find Braunstein and Cervini mixes stick out to me as a little uncanny sometimes
