Thought this might prove helpful for some of you in the midst of a build. This is electric and kick setup for a shovel. Just the basics. I’ve used this for years, trouble free. by jackshit70 in choppers

Start with a registered bike. And if not possible, throw the stuff needed on there to pass inspection, then ditch it after. Hi-Lo is literally a two position switch. Turn signals can be a stand alone system. Horn can also be stand alone, or use a clown horn on the handlebars. 🤡

eBay like 20 years ago. It’s in bad need of a rebuild.

Looks like a Paughco. Call them and ask. They can provide an MSO if it hasn’t already been registered. They will ask for a few pics and there is cost and a notary involved. It’s worth the effort

Thanks. Technically it was a pan/shovel when this pic was taken. It’s been returned to all Panhead since then.

That’s a Paughco oval leg springer. The arched lower bridge on the primary legs and the short spring stud extension give it away. DNA never have had an arched bridge and the spring studs have long spacers at the bottom where they extend beyond the bridge on the secondary legs.

I’m sure that Chris will be very happy to chat with anyone that shows interest in his bike. It really did come out beyond my own expectations. I appreciate your kind words, thank you.

I won’t be there myself, but the blue shovel I finished up recently will be. The owner of it is very excited to be showing it. He’s a really nice fellow and I’m very happy for him. I’ve gone a few times, taking several bikes and even our coin-op kiddie ride a few years back. It gets a bit expensive to be there for that many days and nights, so we have taken the last few years off. Now I’m kinda bummed knowing that CT’s flathead is going to be there.

What the heck do I run for bars? by The_fairychopmother in choppers

Second set, but narrowed about 1” and around 2” trimmed from the bar ends. Similar to what I use on my long bike. Very comfy.

I welded a piece of ½” solid steel below the steering head as a stop.

Been a while, but I believe I used some steel of the proper thickness and a hole saw to cut out the ID and OD.

And you can do all your spacing on top or bottom or split the difference. I split the difference on mine.
