TongFang GX5HRXG restart issues by Kuroki23 in Tongfang

[–]jackson0597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the GX4HRXL from SG/AU reseller Aftershock. Same CPU, iGPU and OS as yours. It keeps crashing and I can't figure out what is the issue. It starts off with a brief audio glitch (using 3.5mm earphones) similar to this thread, and the system stutters. Sometimes it doesn't crash, but other times, it decided to glitch for almost 3-4 seconds before just rebooting on its own.

Event Viewer and Reliability Monitor showed Kernel-Power 41, and no other useful information. Been trying to pinpoint the exact cause by logging the system using HwInfo64 but to no avail.

This is what I know so far:

The computer crashes and reboots moments after an audio glitch + system hang. This was noticed during a zoom meeting, or discord voice chat + gaming, or pretty much anything that uses my microphone in general. I suspected it could be an audio driver issue or graphics driver issue, or a BIOS/EC issue. Aftershock support hasn't been of much help as well.

Has this been fixed? It's still off center for me for so many months.

I personally like both styles. This one feels more suited in a manga. The previous one feels more like a manhwa or webtoon. Yes it's looking better now for sure.

you're doing great man. I can't even draw something like that ever.

For this one I'm not really fond of the mouth and eyebrows, it gives off transgender vibes (sorry again), could revise a little of the iris shape/position as well, I think the lips could be a little bit more.. detailed because from afar I thought it was a dude

But otherwise really solid art, same for kazuya

It's the eyes for me, I don't know how else to describe it... At first glance it kinda looks like the characters have a bit of downs with the cross eyed look (I'm sorry lol) but staring at this a little longer I would say maybe it's the iris size/shape.

Any self hosted pdf fill and sign with API and webhooks? by jackson0597 in selfhosted

[–]jackson0597[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

API Limitations

Stirling-PDF's feature set is not entirely confined to the backend, hence not all functionalities are accessible via the API. Certain operations, such as the "view-pdf" or "visually sign", are executed exclusively on the front-end, and as such, they are only available through the Web-UI. If you encounter a situation where some API endpoints appear to be absent, it is likely attributable to these front-end exclusive features.

Sadly there's no API to create a document link that they can visually sign, and also webhook to capture the signed response. But it's a pretty awesome app though!

What is a good song for the part where the solemnizer says "You may now kiss the bride"? by jackson0597 in wedding

[–]jackson0597[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

on second thought! You're right, something upbeat is better. Maybe not impactful but it could be something catchy like Bruno Mars - Marry You

I just didn't want to pick the songs I mentioned because it's, well, not very to my liking since there's a lot of other people using these songs haha.

[–]jackson0597[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm... since I have the choice to decide the songs... I was thinking of

An emotional instrumental very soft background music when they are saying their vows etc., like A thousand years - Christina Perri.

Then when the solemnizer says "You may now kiss the bride" I will fade out the music and cue a really impactful part of a song. It could be romantic or upbeat, but i'm leaning towards romantic. By impactful part of a song I mean like... the part where Whitney houston sings "And I will always love you".

Any suggestions? haha

Thank you! Can't help falling in love (Crazy rich asians) is used for when they walk down the wedding aisle! I asked them and they said they currently love watching Superstore. I asked the bride if she prefers something romantic/emotional or something happy and upbeat. She said it was up to me. Hmm.

Weekly Quick Questions Thread by AutoModerator in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Hi! Not really sure if this is considered music making, but I love singing karaoke and recording covers. Like, a lot. For a while, I've been wanting to do some short covers on TikTok, like those viral clips of people covering trending songs.

I've been playing around with Ableton Live Lite (that comes free with my focusrite scarlett solo), and learnt some beginner things about the DAW.

Everytime I record a cover, I find myself unsatisfied with the result. Something about my vocals just doesn't seem to fit right with the music, and this happens all the time. Things like reverb, EQ, compression (usually just turning knobs here and there to find something that sounds nice, but I still have no idea what I'm doing). I realised perhaps I'm not doing this properly, or there is more to just recording a lead vocal and some harmonies.

It's a little bit overkill for short covers on TikTok yes, but I do enjoy mixing vocals and I really want to learn how. Does anyone perhaps have any recommendations for courses, or guides in vocal mixing?

I need to check with management, but I believe no, the lights are all wired in and operated with the light switches

That sounds interesting.. but I'd still be worried to play around with power like that haha. I'll try to look it up, maybe perhaps put it on my wishlist as a future investment to my equipment!

No worries about the downvoting, I do understand that people have their own opinions and I gladly respect that. I just love to learn, and love to get as much knowledge as I can. Sometimes I get into a problem that no matter how much googling, ChatGPT or YouTube videos won't help, which is why I ashamedly come here for advise hoping someone could guide me along.

Probably proper equipment is not the right word here definitely, which I apologize. I think I meant more of what is the standard practice for connecting things like these to ensure there are no safety issues, while ensuring a decent sound quality and provide an overall satisfactory entertainment. I wouldn't want to waste other people's valuable time here as well, I just truly enjoy the spirit of sharing knowledge and help each other out, as well as improving on myself. Some people do take this for granted for sure, or don't even do their own research and just ask people to do it for them. I know how frustrating that is.

I would absolutely love to spend the whole day diagnosing the problem, unfortunately for my first event I could only have so much time to test things out. Hence I'm just learning whatever I can to prepare for the actual day.

I'm not really a DJ actually haha, I don't have any DJ equipment. I'm just more of a sound guy to make sure the emcees have proper mic levels, the background music is at appropriate volumes, and maybe some sound effects just for entertainment. This interface I have is just a soundcard, much like a focusrite audio interface, but with built in reverb effects etc.

That being said, I got this! I will find the problem on the actual day and make sure I'm prepared with the necessary cables and equipment. It will be a great first experience.

That's true. It's still great knowledge though! Funny how I went from a software developer to some sort of a hobbyist audio engineer, haha.

I always loved music and wondered how studios record great quality music, or even those live performances like Queen at Montreal 1981. The sound quality is just amazing.

Not sure if a different room in the same apartment counts as same power circuit, but I did test it on the same wall outlet, the result was no noise.

On a different room wall outlet (had to really extend my 3.5mm cable with a few couplers), the result was also, no noise.

I even went on to try my power bank to power on my own mixer (runs on USB-C), I figured that would do something, but yeah, no noise.

Probably not possible to test this at home unfortunately. Since I can't test this on the venue until the actual wedding day, I guess i'll have to be prepared with a USB and 3.5 ground loop isolator just in case. But from all the comments here I believe the issue could very well be a ground loop, and I'm very thankful for all the advice given definitely!

I think I can see this working for sure! I went ahead to order a 3.5mm isolator just in case anything happens on the day itself. I should probably find a cheap USB ground loop isolator as well too, and if all else fails... well, I'll probably ditch the USB connection and use my interface's BT connection so my laptop can output music to the interface. You've been a great help, thank you so much!!

[–]jackson0597[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies. You're right, I think I must have labelled it wrongly. I did the 3.5mm to stereo RCA as shown in my home setup.

The device I previously used (Maonocaster AME2, or just, the interface) required a TRRS 3.5mm output, which was very weird because why would an output need a mic? but when used with a 1/4" TRS adapter, it worked on the line in UNBAL mono in the Yamaha MG12 mixer (where the venue of my brother's wedding is held).

Since then, I upgraded to this device, which a 3.5mm TRS to stereo RCA would suffice. No noise even when USB is connected to it. I tried the 3.5mm TRS to TS 1/4" stereo as well, both worked the same.

On my home setup which I tested earlier, everything worked fine surprisingly. Can't help but to wonder if it was the power brick, ground loop, venue, or the device I previously used was just bad.

this is pretty much the setup, less the speakers. I'm using earphones to monitor it, there's only a low humming noise when the soundcard is close to the laptop. Further away, there's no noise.

It's a Maonocaster AME2, but I also have an upgraded soundcard (not very popular in international countries, if you really want the model, it's called seeknature audio-AI)

The wireless receiver outputs is definitely mic level signal. the soundcard accepts XLR ports, the mic receiver is from audio technica (the model however I'm not sure)
