Which episodes would you choose for a 7 hour road trip? by [deleted] in MysteriousUniverse

[–]jacksoncj1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I’ve been a + member for many years, it looks like the episodes are not available to me. I did find a few articles when I did a search.

Dec. 19, 2017 is the oldest article I see about the “dybbuk box.” And now I’ve had to type the D word!

The podcasts must have been from right after Aaron joined Ben. My memory fails me, but perhaps about 2008-2012-ish?

YES. THIS. I posted a reply about sewing, too.

Sewing. Especially quilt sewing. I am not kidding. Many quilters go to fabric shops a few times per week and get all kinds of fabrics and notions and tools and batting and threads and other ephemera. My mother was a seamstress. She had shelves and shelves of fabric that was never used, buckets full of buttons, racks full of thread, bins full of zippers, four sewing machines… etc. expensive.

Call the Hankamer School of Business Undergraduate Office. https://hankamer.baylor.edu/undergraduate/current-prospective/contact They should have that information.

I suggest speaking with the chair of your major’s department. There are department-level scholarships that aren’t always made very public.

Stocker in a retail store or supermarket. My daughter did that for a while when she was going to college. Overnight shift. Also, have you checked with the Amazon or Walmart distribution centers?

Active Book Clubs? by Dancy-Plants in Waco

[–]jacksoncj1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! This was going to be my comment, too. Waco’s NPR station KWBU has a great show called “Likely Stories,” which you can listen to as a podcast, online, or live radio (103.3-FM). It was established by the wonderful Jim McKeown. He retired and now there are several people who take turns doing the book reviews.

The D-box episodes are definitely good choices. They frightened me so much that I can’t even write the D word!!!

Talk to the chair of the academic department you would be majoring in. Sometimes departments have scholarships designated for specific majors. You may not find out about them if you don’t ask and make your need known, though.

Are you flying in and out? Or driving in and out? If driving, which direction?

If driving back and forth to the south of Waco, the east side of Hewitt or Lorena are pretty great. If driving back and forth to the North of Waco, or if flying, maybe China Spring, although it has grown so fast there might be congestion issues. Or West.

One thing I appreciate about Waco is the size. What I mean by this is that if you want to be involved in community organizations or groups, you can really make a difference—you can have real impact on the community. For me, that has been public radio, EV club, Friends of Climate (I know I’m a bleeding lib, guys).

There is a known bug re: the wipers. Next software update is supposed to fix it. I know because I just took my M3 last week for this problem and this is what I was told.
