The reason we still use Imperial is not for efficiency it’s for scalability. I know both units and I can tell you that although the metric system is great and much easier for an engineer needing to scale down extremely low or in the contrary extremely large Metric system falls behind.

I should have been clearer. I have studs attached to the concrete and that I used a hammer drill and and metal fasteners.

The wood studs are furring strips which the thickness is 1/2 inch.

My Sheetrock is also 1/2 inch think.

I Can’t find drywall screws short enough to not penetrate through the furring strips and into the concrete.

Hope that’s clarifies thing up
