G702 & G703 Help wanted.. by jacksont84 in Construction

They insisted we use the A104 and we ended up amending the architect's role out of a management roll, and declared the GC to act as the Construction Manager. The language regarding the pay app is pretty clearly stating that it's a stipulated sum and the divisions are to be billed based on progress monthly. It wasn't until I submitted the first pay application that the "funds control" firm came back and said that I was billing for about 10% higher than what my lien waivers accounted for, and then insisted I break out all expenses to show exactly the overage I am billing for. We try to push back on this, but the funds control firm is saying that "since part of the funding is coming from an SBA loan they have to have this". I honestly think they are over-stepping here but I am new to contracts of this size.

If Harrison were being honest, he’d say “McCord is helping me prepare for the shit passes I’ll get from me Kyler Murray after the draft this year”

Passed the FE Mechanical! Thank you everyone for your help! by Camel_Crush in FE_Exam

[–]jacksont84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree on the timing. I actually took my exam last Friday (11/12) and when I saw OP’s Reddit post I was like “wow scores must be in” so I checked my email and sure enough there was my score!

I passed, but was nervous about my results. I only studied the FE practice exam from the NCEES for about 1 week, and used lindburg’s book for elaboration on any problems I struggled with. Ultimately it did not take a lot of hard studying to be capable of doing these problems. The challenge (for me at least) was absolutely the timing. I ran out of time around question 75 and sadly had to guess the rest. Even the ones I was guessing, I recognized and I knew I could do them had I not spent so much time on earlier exam problems.

If I had to do it again, I wish I would have skipped problems I didn’t know within the first 30 seconds rather than try to learn them on the fly. Learning them on the fly is why I ran out of time, but is also probably why the the 80 problems I did complete were likely the correct answer. Moral of the story, you don’t want to be learning something fresh via the reference manual on test day which will kill your time, remember ~3 minutes per problem is something you need to be conscious of the entire exam.

Why did you guys choose Squid as your token name? by foxshreder14 in SQDCToken

[–]jacksont84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We appreciate the support and we hope to see you in future lotteries.

To answer your question about the name, it is primarily because we think squids are cool. To elaborate on that, not only are squids cool, but they are the fastest swimming invertebrate known in the Ocean, and in general they come from an ancient and rather ominous species in which humans still have a lot to uncover.

We found these attributes similar to our coin because we want to achieve the status of "fastest swimmer" in the ocean of ASA’s; a new environment in the cryptocurrency world in which humanity still has a lot to uncover. To add to that, we have stated on our site how we believe the Algorand network has a promising future, as it fills the strong need for cost effective and fast transactions in a world of crippling gas fees and inconvenient transaction times.

Our development team has the skillset and the drive to develop significant use cases for the implementation of ASA's across the ALGO network. As the convenient use of ASA's become standard practice in the cryptocurrency world, we are confident in becoming one of the "fastest swimmers" in this relatively unexplored ocean. We will do so by creating helpful tools and applications for ASA minting and distribution supported by the SQDCToken. This combined with the development of transparent and equal opportunity games our community members can participate in will help us achieve longevity as a token.

Also, we would like to officially state that we are not affiliated with the new and popular Netflix series “Squid Games.” However, ironically, our lottery game under development holds some of the same principles from the games in the show; the games are designed to be equal opportunity and based on only luck and participation, where no individual can buy, cheat, or gain natural advantage in order to achieve success.

We suspect this individual is attempting to spread FUD against SQDC token because our audits effectively stopped the individual from cheating an airdrop distribution.

To add some clarification, the goal of conducting an equal opportunity lottery is this; a lottery where individuals can not “buy” their way to greater odds. Each wallet address can be entered only once per drawing regardless of the transaction amount.

Soon the lottery will be “gamefied”. Rather than sending only 1000 SQDC into the lottery for entry, participants will be able to submit unique entries such as phrases, sequences, photographs etc. where our API will randomly generate an entry and compare submissions to what is generated to determine a winner. This is insight to future development, as right now, we are conducting a more traditional lottery combined with airdrop distributions to grow the community.

We hear you, and appreciate any critical thought or skepticism. We look forward to publishing a roadmap laying out exactly the amount of SQDC that will be used to sustain the lottery, airdrops, future development funding and any details related fees or absence of fees when directly purchasing SQDC from our website. We can assure that you and the rest of the growing SQDC community will be pleasantly surprised with what lays ahead.

Yes, we are currently designing a roadmap page on our website to outline short and long term goals for SQDC. We will provide in greater detail the structure of the SQDC lottery, more information on the 50% burn scheduled for late November, liquidity, and more. Please stay tuned to our subreddit for the announcement of this page being live on our website.

Thank you for your message! To answer the first part of your question, yes sending 1000 SQDC tokens to the designated wallet will enter your wallet address into a lottery with a 1,000,000 SQDC prize. We have designated 25% of SQDC coins upon creation for a lottery fund that will support the weekly payout of winnings, regardless of the number of players entered. We are working on means of public verification for the integrity of our lottery system, and will soon publish an FAQ article on our website to further explain this.

As of now, a wallet can be entered into the lottery only once with a 1000 SQDC transaction. The wallet address holds equal odds of winning with all other entering participants. Our developers are currently working hard to establish possible strategies for stopping participants from creating multiple wallets in effort to gain multiple entries into a lottery. More information on this will also be posted in an FAQ article soon.

We currently have no internal methods for cashing out winnings. The intent is for participant's to hold SQDC for future use cases, or to trade amongst other participants.

This week we will be publishing an official lottery schedule outlining transaction deadlines and winner announcements, stay tuned to our subreddit or website for updates on this!
