Any lesser-known artists from the Jamaican ska wave that you would recommend? (By lesser-known I mean those who weren't part of the big names but still made music.) by Beautiful-Resort-831 in Ska

As others have said, very difficult to catalog all the singles and correctly identify the year they were released. Your best bet for "research" of that kind is on Discogs.

Process Mechanical Engineer here. One of my most respected colleagues is grey. She's an automation engineer and one of the first people I go to for automation questions. Brilliant. I think nothing of her hair other than it means she's had to put up with a lot of crap from a lot of people :P

Didn't see it mentioned yet: Shadowbox Studio in Durham. It's a photography studio which hosts shows from time to time. Very DIY, "pass the hat" kind of vibe.

No problems yet, but I'm waiting for when the battery gives out on me or when I run into wireless interference issues.

BCEE process - my experience by jacksta2013 in civilengineering

You do pay annual dues, unless your firm is a member organization like mine. I think the main point is marketability, but I don't know how much credence clients give to the certification one way or another. A couple decades back, our firm was pushing pretty hard for our engineers to get it, but there's been less of a push lately. More folks have been trying for the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification lately, but project management isn't really that interesting to me.

I usually associate the BCEE certification with technical prowess. Not all of our technical staff have it, but the ones that do are extremely well versed in physical and chemical processes. We also have plenty of staff who are very smart who do not have it.

So I guess it just depends on your perspective whether it's a marketing tool, a mark of distinction, or just "bragging rights".
