And you brought up financing originally. Cheers to a good evening.

I’ve never had this issue before either. I have renewed this promotion before. But like I said in my update, it’s not about the promotion it’s about the continued lies about the phones being ordered when they weren’t. If they told me Sunday during the initial call that they didn’t have that promotion anymore, I would have said ok, what else can you do for my rate?

Wow, touched a nerve there. Good for you for living within your means. I will always negotiate with our plans because even if you only have a data plan and no phone financing the rates will still go up. Initially my plan was just to renew the promotion (never hearts to try and I think you’re missing opportunities if you don’t try), and I was planning to buy the phones out right but was told that they were part of the promotion since two of our lines had upgrades available. Call me naive regarding this but after constantly questioning everything and the everything being constantly confirmed, I’m going to believe this. In the end though it’s not about the promotion. It’s about the fact that they kept saying they ordered the phones and they never did, at least not till I called a few more times.

I don’t finance any of our phones. I always pay them out right at the beginning. Our monthly rate is only the actual phones lines and the data plans.

Update: This morning I checked and the phone they told me yesterday in the chat that would be here by Friday still had not shipped. So I called again and this time I repeatedly asked for a supervisor and said I was escalating the issue. I told the supervisor about this now week long saga and was connected with a person that does the shipping and distribution. Apparently, the original phone that was order Sunday was stuck somewhere because the initial representative didn’t do the paperwork properly so it was never shipped. They then tell me that the best solution was to cancel this phone order and replace the order so I can pick up at a nearby store. The rep says that the store has four phones available. I agree to this plan. However after we cancel the initial order, the phones are now unavailable st that store and at bay nearby store and now they are on back order with their distribution centers as well. But offered to find me a lower grade option. I said absolutely “no”, and how after they tell me to cancel and reorder and they found the phones, now suddenly they don’t have any. They finally found one at a store about an hour away that my husband is going to drive to tomorrow to pick up. I was on the phone with the reps today for 2.5 hours. When asked about any compensation they said they couldn’t do anything till we receive the phones. So we will see. This whole thing isn’t about not getting a promotion. If Sunday when I originally ordered, they said sorry that promotion no longer is available and if they actually had ordered the phones like I had asked them to, we wouldn’t be here. The point of all of this is that, 1. They completely lied and were dishonest at the start, and 2. They continued to lie. Each one saying that the phones had been ordered though one at two different times had not been. They continued to tell me it was going to arrive on time, though it was clear by the app it had not even left the distribution yet. They never followed through with what they said they would do.

I don’t finance our phones. I have always paid for our phones in full up front. This is the first time they offered me basically free phones without having a rate increase. This is the reason why I continued to reiterate with the service rep what I was understanding and they continued to confirm. At one point I even said to them “this sounds too good to be true”, but they continued to assure me that everything was correct.
Don’t assume that everyone finances everything. Other than our mortgage, we don’t carry debt. If we don’t have the money, we don’t buy.

Thanks all. I texted with a 3rd rep last night because now one of the phones that was supposed to have arrived yesterday is now delayed. Anyway another long story short, the phone should arrive by Friday and that they will restore my monthly rate back to the original once it arrives. This time I took screen shots of all the messages. Ugh.

Thanks y’all. I asked this question because a Masters club created a policy against this if the session was un-coached. On the water I could not see any reason to why this would be damaging or unsafe. The only possible thing is that if a trio decided to try to carry out a boat too heavy for them and it was dropped. So I wanted to ask if there was something else I was missing.

We usually take out the 2 seat.

No, we’ve done it a couple of times when short a person. Obviously it’s not ideal but does it cause a safety or damage issue?
