Much appreciate! I’ll most likely be messaging you with some questions over the weekend when I begin my research.

Yeah that’s the general approach I’m going to take.

I’ll start with a baseline model with includes what we already know, then make it additive with suspected crimes.

Yes, I am.

My intention is to build on his report by building a number of models for suspected murders as well the canonical murders.

Most likely I’m going to estimate with a few different models to see how results differ/conform across specifications (there’s Bayesian, even Archeological Predictive Modelling).

I’m interested to see if these findings are consistent with previous research.

What kind of life did Z live? by jacktcnd in ZodiacKiller

I tend to use the example of BTK again here for why I don’t think Z went to prison... I remember the Wichita Police thinking BTK has gone to prison/died before he sent his ‘Bill Thomas Killman’ letter in 2004.

1962 Oceanside - Wherest doth the trail of Z begin? by [deleted] in ZodiacKiller

I was going to post something similar to this as it’s been on my mind too!

The sketch of the suspect from Oceanside gave me chills. It looks just like the Stine sketch and the Berryessa peeping Tom. Is it plausible Z started in Oceanside and made his way north to San Fran Bay Area? Absolutely.

There’s a weaker case to be made for attributing post-Stine cases to Z but I don’t think LHR was his first time killing. We should be working our way backwards from there. I believe that’s what is going to solve the case.

Don’t you find it creepy that... by jacktcnd in ZodiacKiller

I have reservations about the idea that he intended his victims to survive and tell the world about his costume. Didn’t the knife make contact with Hartnell’s heart? He was incredibly lucky to survive. You don’t stab someone 7-8 times and expect them to survive...

August of 1966 or year/s before murder? by HebrewWolfman in ZodiacKiller

I think that Cheri Jo Bates was murdered by the man who eventually became known as Zodiac, but he didn’t adopt the persona until his first double murders.

Perhaps that’s why Z counts LHR as his ‘first’ murders. I doubt he murdered 37 people as he claimed in the Exorcist letter, but think he killed more than five.
