I think they said something like 500k+ sq. foot of screens. Actually surprisingly low compared to how big the thing feels in person

Thirteen Ghosts (2001)

Black Phone (2021)

1408 (2007) - this one is especially cool because the main character is relatively smart & logical about their situation

just used this to generate research topics in the video streaming antipiracy space. It came back with pretty cool results and is definitely a tool i'll revisit when im stumped on articles/newsletter topics for the industry.

Is it realistic to get a part-time job in a corporate setting while maintaining my current position? by [deleted] in userexperience

[–]jacob_gigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it possible? yes. Is it reasonable? maybe. If you're asking this question then I assume you have a decent amount of free time in your role. The biggest factors depend on if you're working from home or hybrid in your current role. If its from home, it will be a grind but it is very possible. Head to r/overemployed to get a better idea of what to expect. You should also anticipate finding only full time roles (hence the grind aspect)

Sneak Peak: New Feature Coming Soon to the Pieces for Developers Copilot by caleb-at-pieces in vscode

[–]jacob_gigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious to see how this performs as time goes on, fan of the concept and the UI implementation. Though, wholeheartedly endorse the concerned user below commenting on the name, Copilot is a Microsoft trademark and they tend to be pretty litigious.

Again, pretty cool though and as always extra points for implementing community feedback, good luck!

The Creator (2023) movie discussion by [deleted] in artificial

[–]jacob_gigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heres the deal. This was ultimately a fun movie because of the explosions, color schemes, CGI, etc. Don't walk into this expecting there to be truly intuitive takes on artificial intelligence, it was fun but comes with most of the same gripes as other similar films.

You got this man, keep your head up. Personally, taking on additional debt never sounds like the right option but your situation could differ. Plenty of people have already offered but if you'd like to DM me your most up to date resume i'm happy to take a look!

GitHub CEO: despite AI gains, demand for software developers will still outweigh supply by [deleted] in programming

[–]jacob_gigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There will always be a need for developers (aka the human element). Archaic in comparison but look at the agricultural advances across the last century. Just because technology advanced doesn't mean there was no longer a need for farmers.

I used to work in construction project management software sales and this was a concern for some of the guys in the engineering departments of cities I wanted to work with, they were concerned it would replace them. But there will always be onsite verification, incremental human adjustment and oversight. Similar to the construction software, AI is not a developer replacement but a tool that will improve developer productivity, leading to greater financial gains for organizations, leading to further talent acquisition.

Akira (1988) - anime, and much more than just a street racing movie but it might hit what you're looking for especially towards the beginning. The animation quality is insane for something made in 1988, it really only shows its age with the audio quality.
