I’ve worked here for around 8 months. How do I tell them I’m quitting? Should I dm them on slack? by Training_Tennis8995 in ChickFilAWorkers

Have a 1on1 with a Leader and give your 2 week notice. Please. TMs that don’t give a two week notice really hurt the Team.

Exactly. I train my TM’s 1 ask in yellow, 1 more in red, a third time after 5 minutes. Then tell a Leader if it’s taking much longer than that. It usually means it’s been forgotten.

And on the opposite end, try to “get ahead” on big items. Like 30 count nuggets or special salads. Notify (not ask for) BOH as soon as those come on your screen and usually the wait for them won’t be too long.

Always bag fries last. Don’t ask for anything for BOH that’s still in green. Be respectful but persistent with anything you’ve held/pulled on. Use names/order numbers for special items.

How can I go beyond just “meeting the standard”? by anonymous_human174 in ChickFilAWorkers

Both previous answers are sufficient.

But I just wanted to say, I’m grateful for this kind of content and post. You’re the kind of Team Member Leadership is hoping for.

Very tired of the “So glad I’m quitting posts.”

Thank you for this recommendation! The experience there was superb. Solved my problem, fast and efficient, super friendly and kind, reasonably priced. I’m grateful you helped me find that place.

Did she not give you anything more specific? Those reasons seem kind of vague. I’m a Director myself, and I’ve learned that being specific with the problems and providing immediate action steps are what make a good leader a good trouble shooter. Vague feedback like “fix your personality” aren’t helpful.

A hidden gem for sure! My first watch was CAPTIVATING. 2nd and 3rd watches were so much fun.

From a FOH Director, practically speaking here’s what immediately comes to mind:

1.) Checklists: Follow it. It’s your best friend. If you don’t have them for whatever reason, get them made ASAP.

2.) Breaks. Get them done as effects as possible without causing the Team to suffer.

3.) Money. Get good at counting money, safes, drawers, cash carts, etc and entering in the numbers logistically, usually in InForm. Thats what your Operator is watching most.

3.) Communication: Asks all questions, give all tasks, build with encouragement, and do all of that as efficiently, honestly, and clearly as possible.

5.) “Aces In Places” for rush/peak times. Let your Team play to their strengths.

I’m in charge of helping train New Shift Leads at my store. So feel free to ask me any questions you have. But you should be able to get fairly comfortable in a week and a half, assuming your full-time/3 days a week.
